Dyson Airwrap Scam

Hi
I bought a Dyson Airwrap in October from Ebay from a trusted seller. I received the item worked perfect did had box with serial number all the parts nothing to show its not real. I was able to register the Item on the Dyson website for a guarantee so I never suspected it at all this point to be fake. In December I found that the attachments were not sticking to the wand so well so I contacted Dyson they arranged for a repair under the guarantee. Now A few days letter I received an email from Dyson to say the item is counterfeit and they will not be sending it back and if I show the letter sent to the retailer I bout it from they should refund me. I have taken this to Ebay but they are refusing to refund as its out of the 30day Money back guarantee. I am really fustrated and annoyed as this should be covered by eBay or dyson as they registered the item as real on the website that means dyson is a scam aswell.
Can anbody help as I should be able to get a refund. As i took the right steps to authenticate that it was real.
Thanks

I'm no fan of James Dyson or his products, but Dyson isn't "a scam". On the contrary, they've intervened to remove a counterfeit product from the market, which is a good thing. I don't know how their product registration process works but it's possible that you registered your counterfeit model with Dyson before the genuine item with the same serial number was registered, so it's perhaps not something Dyson would detect at that point.sweetdoll26 said:Hi

Your complaint and your consumer rights reside with the seller. Get in touch with the seller, tell them what's happened and send them a copy of the letter. See what they say and come back for advice if you need it.6 -
How did you pay for the item. Please be specific about whether credit/debit and whether amex, mastercard or visa as your rights are different. How much did you pay? (relevant for section 75 protection).
Did you pay through a third party e.g. paypal.
What has the seller said so far?

I paid through PayPal I have contacted them also they are saying it over 30days they can not do anything either now it was on ebay through a seller that had 100 percent feedback but now has been removed for violations which ebay will not disclose to me what violations. I have been scammed clearly and ebay are not taking liability for it0

They are not willing to agree as they say its over the 30day money back guarantee. I would never have been able to detect this in those 30days if I had not sent the item to DysonAylesbury_Duck said:

So now you are left with the seller direct. Where is the sellers business based?
If it's a uk based business then do you have their company name or address?
the seller is wrong, you rights in law are not limited to 30 days if there is fraud.

The seller has now been removed form Ebay so theres no way of contacting them I asked ebay why they were removed it was due to violations. I will go back and speak to Ebay again I am very disappointed spent £300 on it.lisyloo said:sweetdoll26 said:

To this being a counterfeit eBay should be refunding me they keep just saying about the 30day money back guarantee being over0 -
I don't think that's the case. eBay is a marketplace, your contract is with the seller. eBay and Paypal offer those guarantees as an enhancement of your consumer rights, but your consumer rights in this case are with the seller.sweetdoll26 said:

The price tag should have rung alarm bells if this was advertised as new. The product usually retails at £450-500 from reputable stores, so you have to wonder why someone would sell them for £300.2 -
It's not up to ebay to refund you, it's up to the seller.sweetdoll26 said:

Unfortunately you didn't keep any details of who they were.
Have you asked ebay to provide you with the sellers details?1 -
The seller's name and address, together with the invoice details will still be in your eBay account, you contact them via that route, probably a LBA would be best.sweetdoll26 said:

eBay are not responsible for refunding you, it is not their responsibility as they did not sell you the item.1 -
too late now but you would have had more protdction paying with a card than paypal.0
