So another scaremongering article then. Although it does refer to FIT not SEG.

TBH unless the energy companies start producing annual export statements aligned with the tax year it's going to be pretty difficult for most of us to work out! It's not as if most people understand their energy bills anyway!
    This, absolutely!
I wasn't sure if you'd be OK - I know you have a huge array, but once the heat pump is installed it'll probably be a lot less excess (pity - the hot tub sounded good!).

Thanks for all the info.  A whole weight off my mind.  All these scare stories are beginniing to seriously annoy me.

The suggestion that deemed exports should be going on my tax return is news to me! :# Thankfully as we earn about £500-600 a year in total, I'm not too worried about the small proportion of that which is deemed export, even if they do decide to make an example of me...

I'm being less stingy with imports already this month - admittedly only when they're under 6p/kWh. But the fact that I'm on Agile means my imports (currently) cost very little. TBH unless suppliers do the maths, the chances are no one will be able to work it out properly. And if there is a requirement to pay tax on earnings I would expect to be able to offset the depreciation on the investment against the income.

    Morning all,

Day has not gone to plan - Niece has been admitted to hospital with suspected orbital cellulitis - she has a massively swollen eye poor thing, so I’ve been at the hospital as moral support and practical assistance for Sis since 8. (Niece’s dad has just about managed two text messages since the middle of the night 🤬). She’s got a scan later and hopefully won’t need an op, but it’s a possibility. Mum is unwell with a chesty cough, so can’t easily be here.

Think I’ll be here nearly all day - have managed a prolific survey at least. Might do a few more too.

Dinner tonight will be avocado, egg on toast as we have an avocado that needs using. And  then leftover crumble from Sunday for dessert.

Oh tmv sending all healing vibes to your dear niece.  Fingers crossed that the diagnosis and prompt treatment will start her on the road to recovery.  And well done you on being a support for both your niece and sis.  I bet it means the world to them to have you there.

Oh ouch, your poor niece Vix - and how frightening for your sister and you, too.  Hopefully it won't need an op. Fingers will be crossed here.

Thanks both. As you’d expect, lots of waiting around here. Niece is managing to sleep on and off at least, which is good after a very disturbed night.

    Thanks Beanie!
I am now home - left Sis and Niece as she was going for her scan. Sis's boyfriend should be there with them now (having finished work), so Sis will ring when she wants me to go back. I have a powerbank of hers charging and will retrieve her car from the hospital car park when I go. I'm knackered and I slept in my own bed last night - she must be feeling grotty now. Scan was ok and no op needed currently, so 🤞🏼the new antibiotics kick in. (Mum, it turns out, has Covid, so she won't be able to support for a while yet!).
I have paid myself and invoiced etc. Shuffled money to savings for cat vet bills (because of their age, we now have to pay excess of £159 and a 20% co-pay 😬 - and I don't think I've mentioned here that the lump on B&W cat's head appears to have grown slightly - so that'll be another big bill!) and heat pump.
🐙 have finally woken up. We have an audit on Thursday morning and I've had a request for feedback and heard from our contact, so we need to marshal our thoughts and get back to her. (That's going to require more brainpower than I feel I have currently.)
Fortunately work is quieter at the moment and I pre-warned the person I was meant to have a meeting with that I might not make it.
Off to make another cuppa and find a biccie to go with it.
