Morning All,
I've tidied up a day early and it's come in at £16.61.
I'm in the same boat as you @YorksLass, I've had the boosted saver rate dropped from one of my accounts, so need to find a better rate somewhere 🙄I feel like a Pelican - everywhere I look there's a bill staring at me!LBM: March 2014 Current CC debt: £2048.29/£3666.53 (55.86% repaid) Current Challenges:Tilly Tidy: £2087.67/£2500 (83.50%) 3 to 6 month emergency fund #75: £3653.62/£6000 (60.89%)2 -
Hi Peeps,
for another way of Tilly Tidying have/do you shop from home stores? Remembering to do this on a regular basis you will find you save money instead of just buying new. Most of us here usually have more than 1 item either under the sink in the bathroom or kitchen even outside in a shed. Consider getting those items together and store like with like. Over the past 12 months I shopped from home using up those items and paid myself back at £1 per item irrelevant of original out lay or even how much is left in a bottle/vessel. I had saved over £100 and used that for a weeks shopping prior to Christmas including buying the items you don't buy each week to make it go even further. I do accept items from family and friends if they are having a clear out as they tend to just throw stuff away. I am not too proud to accept items and I can continue to use up stuff whilst saving just that bit more money. For some this can be more helpful as it gives money more chance to feed or heat homes.

Tilly Tidy to date for January = £9.01.
I've decided to save £2 coins again as last year's haul gave me a useful start to this year.
I'm also looking at cancelling my SM delivery pass. I used to have a delivery every week, then it dropped to one a fortnight and now I'm on my own I'm sure I could manage with just one a month. If I use the £1 saver slot for these instead of a pass, then it will save another £40 over the year. I've got another couple of weeks to decide before my current pass automatically renews and already have the cash ring fenced for the renewal so that could potentially be swept into savings in February.
@2Scratters - I don't pay myself back for the home stores but remember how long it took me to get through the cleaning supplies that came from my late DF's house when he moved into a nursing home. If I'd used the pay back system I'd have been quids in!Be kind to others and to yourself too.1 -
Hi All,
End of the week and it's total up time....comes in at £12.12, so that's all off to the various saving pots

Morning Peeps,
Moved £10 as I had logged onto my account where my pension is paid into. As nothing has been spent I needed to justify being in thereso rounded it down.
I haven't yet withdrawn our cash for the monthly shopping as I had locked myself out PIN entry incorrect 3 times and now have to travel 6 miles to unlock it. Building Society not a bank
Hopefully you have all managed one way or another to get to the end the longest month of the year.
I remember reading some time ago somewhere in MSE about the Christmas wages pay day. It has taken me some time to practise getting my head around it. Just leave it where it is till the normal pay day. This just shows how societally we have been trained in spending before we have it. Obviously, it would have been so that those paying wages their jobs were completed in good time.
Have a good week all

Hi All,
I know what you mean @2Scratters about the Christmas payday thing, i have trained myself to just leave it, and added incentive is to put into a higher interest account and take the advantage of the interest paid for just leaving it there 🙂
As it's the start if the month, I have tidied my accounts and remainder of my January budget and it comes to a nice £440, so that's all off to savings, emergency funds, etc

January's Tilly Tidy total comes to £69.91. Very fortuitous as my microwave has finally given up the ghost and I've ordered a replacement that's being delivered tomorrow. Not expensive because it's just a basic model which is all I need. So, although the cash saved won't be going into savings, it is being put to good use!Be kind to others and to yourself too.1

@YorksLass that's a win. No money leaving the pot
@Divingmad that is a good number. I do only work with one account for the Tilly tidy as I have too many bank accounts which I am working to reduce to simplify my life. I do tilly in the other accounts too but don't count them in here. Must try harder. It should be easier for me to sort as many banks are closing their branches and people having to travel a distance. I need to stop the loyalty and "liking my account number".
Moved £31.92 from Tilly tidy account to my ISA. This month I will be aiming to round to the £10 mark each time I long on, which is quite frequently during the month.
Have a good week
