Welcome old and new Tilly Tidy Peeps to this group.
It is all about getting what we can together from next to nothings and making something of the small bits of change.
Whether that is going towards any debt or just being used to keep your head above water. No shame, of gathering those little coppers. No judgement, of how it gets done. It's done your way. No right or wrong way of doing this. Every penny collected is a win. Digital or physical coins or both.
Pop in and out as you wish see what can help you and just say Hello.
Here's to 2025

I like my round-ups from my bank account - saved up quite a bit over the last year1

@Flugelhorn thanks for popping in. Yes this is what it is all about. Those little bits of money do add up and have certainly saved the day on many occasion too. It helps us to get into the mindset of starting to save. When we have to dib into it it can be a little disheartening yet if we hadn't done just that it would definitely be worse.

@2Scratters - I've put a link on the 2024 thread for you to re-direct people to here.
I'm in for 2025.I'm off to a good start as I'm not taking any cash from the ATM for January's cash purchases. That's £60 for top-up groceries plus for other odds and ends that are squirrelled away in various small jars. This is because I'm using the £2 coins that I saved last year (£46) along with a £10 note found in a handbag and another £4 from the loose coin tray. Instead, I'll transfer the £60 I would have withdrawn into my easy savings account. I've also got a pound's worth of 2p pieces to pay in next time I go to the PO. It won't be like this every month obviously but I'll take it as a starter!
I've also received a £5 voucher from the SM by way of compensation for Tuesday's delivery that didn't arrive because of the snow.Be kind to others and to yourself too.1 -
@YorksLass the link worked a treat thankyou
I'm going to support DS GF with getting her onto the Tilly tidy band wagon actions as she needs to get rid of an overdraft that is costing her too much money. I have tried and succeeded on a previous occasion but she sadly fell back into her old ways. I'll report back to here to see how she gets on. Looking at the end of the year to having got rid and have a small credit balance would be a win for me/her.

Have done the Friday round up of pennies on my current account balance and now have £10.26 ring fenced, so £10 will be off to savings and 26p carried forward to next week.
Total savings this month: £70.00.
Spent this month: Nothing! Tbf, that's because I haven't been anywhere because of the snow!Be kind to others and to yourself too.1 -
Always an upside to bad weather @YorksLass that's more savings. Well done.
Mine this week have added up quicker than expected I moved my December funds of £30 to a better interest rate account now with balance of £8.20

Morning all
It's 2025 and I'm in for another year of tidying 😀
Last year was quite astounding in how much I managed to tidy away, so have set my target again at £2500 for the year, so here we go.....first tidy up comes in at £13.97.

Morning Peeps,
I'm thinking I may need or want to close down a bank account or 2. 1 it would be for ease and open back up the opportunity to move around the banking system as I see fit and to my advantage and not theirs. Pots would increase with the narrowing down of the pots of bits too. Having just written that down I think I have answered my own question.
Have a good weekend

This Friday's round up of current account balance pennies has yielded 88p, total now £1.14.
Two grocery shops this week, a delivery and a small top up locally, total spends for January £28.53 with £31.47 left in the budget. I can spend more if need be but I'll be sticking to the £60 I've allowed myself for the month.
My easy saver account interest has dropped again this month, that's twice since it was opened last summer.I need to do a search for something better.
Be kind to others and to yourself too.1
