Good to see you back Pixie. Sorry to hear you've been unwell. Take care, hopefully the summer will help you heal and mend.
Sending you healing vibes.4 -
Good Morning Lovely Ladies.Well I'm back. 😂. Have been missing in action due to house move, I'm exhausted. Lol. But happy. It's going to take a while to get straight and settled, but I'm in no tearing hurry, it's not a race.Anyhoo........my priority now is to lose weight, get fit and healthy.I'm a bit in the wars at the moment - a nasty insect bite on my leg, bumps and bruises acquired during the house move, muscle strain, aches and pains, excema flare up, dry sore hands, ragged nails, and so on. I'm definitely feeling below par and not exactly looking my best.. I think a lot of it is due to the lack of sleep, stress and over exertion of the last few weeks. So it's time for some serious TLC. Time to up my game and sort myself out. I have booked a chiro appt for next week because I'm walking around like Quasimodo again.....not a good look. LOL. It's a start. So here we go again.....time to turn over another new leaf. 😂🤣.7

Well I recently managed to get myself to the next village barbers for a haircut which was way overdue. I later topped up my colour but 2 weeks down the line it has faded quite quickly. Need to get another box in ready for the next time. I do manage to get 2 refreshes from 1 due to me having short hair.
The other week I treated myself to a Thai massage, not having had one before was not sure what to expect, it sure did the trick though.
@helensbiggestfan no need to rush now it getting yourself sorted. Hopefully your new forever home. Be happy.

Enjoy your new home. And rest!3
-
Thanks everyone. I'm loving my new home and I am getting plenty of rest now that I am settled in. I am sleeping so much better at night too, so I'm feeling a lot less stressed. The really good news is I have lost 6lbs in the last month. Wahoo. Although tbh I still have a long way to go. Still it's a good start.I will keep on keeping on........😁
Had a little splurge and replenished my summer wardrobe. A mixture of chazza shop, eBay and Amazon. Nothing fancy, just a few pairs of linen trousers and some tops to keep me going whilst I try to lose more weight. Not giving up yet.......4 -
Not much happening here, says me, we have been a bit busy throughout the month so far. We had our 40th wedding anniversary on 4th of month then my pensionable birthday with just £98 received (stroll on the next 4 weeks for the full amount
)We are giving some supplement of collagen to see if it does help with our looks
more so for the other potential benefits to be honest. Using up skin care products from the bathroom and happy with the free vitamin D we have been having recently.
We were gifted an egg chair those that are suspended from a frame off a wonderful neighbour. She had never used it. I absolutely love it it is so comfy and relaxing to be in it. This moderate rain is appreciated for the gardens and farmers then it can do one again for us to have some more summer please.
@helensbiggestfan great news on the lbs off. It is a number where you quickly feel the benefit of it shifting away. Keep it up.

Good Morning Lovely Ladies
Happy Anniversary Scratters. 💕🥂. That's wonderful. And good news with the pensions kicking in.Have been very busy here. Still settling in and trying to get organised. Lol. It's a long job but I guess there's no tearing hurry.Health wise I've been a bit up and down. Nothing serious, just minor niggles. I had a lurgy, coughed so much I ended up with a bloodshot eye due to a broken blood vessel. Looked awful for a few days but thankfully it's cleared by itself and its fine now. The insect bite is very slow to heal too. The joys of aging.......lol.Have been buying a few summer bits and pieces, linen trousers and also some easy wide legged palazzo type trousers in soft jersey type fabric for wearing round the house. A bit smarter and certainly more flattering than leggings. Leggings now relegated to exercise wear only. I also bought a couple of fine knit sweaters online. Unfortunately they are a bit small. That's the problem of shopping online, trying to guess the sizing. Never mind I'll hang on to them for when I've lost more weight. Unfortunately it's very slow. Some weeks it's only 0.5lb. Still better than gaining.Just need to remember the Compound effect. Small changes every day lead to big changes over time. Trying to eat healthily and do a bit of yoga every day. Taking more care with my skin. Trying to grow my hair a bit. It looks very messy at the moment, that awful in between stage. But I'll try to persevere and get through it without caving in and getting it cut short again. I tend to live in trousers these days and I would like my hair to be a bit longer so I feel more feminine. Lol. My hands and nails are looking much better now. Just need to sort my knee out. I am sure it would be less painful if I lost some more weight. 🤞Hope you are all well and enjoying some of this lovely weather we've been having. Another nice day here, food shopping and then potter in the garden...5 -
Good Morning Lovely LadiesWell I've given in. The insect bite that I sustained nearly 6 weeks ago still hasn't fully healed. There's obviously some infection going on so yesterday I started some anti biotics. Hate taking them because they make me feel so awful so I have cancelled everything this week until I've finished the course. I would much rather not have to take them but there you go.I shall be 74 next month and I guess it's just a sign that getting older means healing takes longer and sometimes the body just needs a bit of extra help.I have booked a consultation next week with a clinic which offers acupuncture to try and help with my knee pain. I really don't want to have knee surgery if I can avoid it but my knee has gotten worse so I'm trying other less invasive treatments. Of course it would help if I lost some more weight but I seem to have plateaued again. It's a vicious circle, my knee impairs my ability to exercise such as walking or dancing and yet I really need to up my aerobic type exercise to help me lose weight. Yoga and Pilates are good for flexibility but they don't seem to help me with weight loss. I am going to add small hand weights to my routines, see if I can start building some muscle. I feel I'm losing muscle strength.Ah the joys of aging....But I guess it beats the alternative. 😉9

@helensbiggestfan sorry to hear your knees are suffering some. My son bought me some "grounding shoes" looking a lot like soft trainers that have copper in the sole to help remove pain from our body. I am aware there are some similar available on the famous Tem* site for under £10. I can only say I love wearing them and have definitely found them to work for me. They are so comfy too.
Re your weight loss journey are you eating to many carbs too early in the day? Remember the adverts back in the day go to work on an egg(or 2) maybe swap cereal/toast for that instead. Keep doing what you are doing as you are still winning at it.
I, last week had a spree in the Sea Salt shop as I had some coupons to use up and by chance picked the best time to go as they had increased the discount on my BLC card too. I have finally got another item to go with a BN skirt from same that has never been worn in over 2years that I have had it. A new summer top that is very interchangeable with items already owned plus another 3 dresses - I really do not need any more. I will go through the wardrobe as there are at least 4 items I want to sell on. My wardrobe is full now and shall remain like that permanently with the exclusion of needing new M&S underwear as and when the need arises.

Grounding shoes sound interesting. Years ago I used to use copper inserts in my shoes and I think they helped. I had forgotten all about them. I think I might try some again. So thanks for reminding me. I also have a copper bracelet with magnets that I haven't worn in ages. I'll dig that out too.
Feeling absolutely ghastly from the anti biotics but they do seem to be working. The bite mark is looking much less red and angry. Thankfully only a couple more days before I finish the course.,,I feel really drained so not doing much at all. Managed to do a food shop yesterday so at least I won't starve. Lol. Stocked up on bio yoghurt and kefir to try and sort my tummy out.My family were due to visit this weekend. I feel a bit mean but I'm going to have to cancel. I just feel I need to be quiet and rest until I'm back up to speed.I actually eat very few carbs these days. When I do it's mainly "green" one (salads, fruit and veg). I just have to be patient. I'm sure the weight will come off eventually. Just need to keep at it.Persistence Pays Off. 😉4
