Oh hello fatigue my old (and unwelcome) friend. What a time.of year for it to rock up again and by heck it blooming hits like wall. Im managing to push through the day times (no other choice really) but evenings have see me in my pjs and into my bed early. Clearly.im reverting to being a toddler.
NSD yesterday (superb) but £2 spent on iron tablets today to try and perk myself up.

Rest up! You obviously need it, your body is telling you to rest for a reason so listen to it. And also it's winter so we should all be hibernating really.Debts 04/01/25 04/05/26

Quick brief check in this evening.
Sadly not a NSD but was a No Pub Day 😂. My spends today were on a coffee out (but not lunch) as I met a friend for a catch up and normally this would involve an alcoholic beverage but as I'm doing a minimal alcohol.challenge this month and my friend has some serious health issues we decided to be sensible. Maybe we are grown ups indeed.
Today's other spend involved a school trip payment for one of the yoofs so I didn't mind that too much. No side hustling today or this week which given my tiredness is probably not.too much of a bad thing.
It's still.super cold out so off to.bed to get warm

What an ear worm for today hahaha.
Happy Saturday diary land. What a week it's been. I've been a little bit spendy as yesterday I ordered 2 small white boards for the yoofs in a bid to help organising school work and deadline and some revision guides this morning in a last ditch attempt to improve grades. The revision guides were 2nd hand so not overly pricey though and whiteboards were £20 each.
As my 2026 Personal Improvement Challenge I have decided I need to play one of my instruments more or I need to consider selling it. It's worth about 2k so not a cheap item to have just sat around and it deserves more attention than it has previously had. I can actually physically play it but musically It does though require me to learn a different music clef which is where the challenge lies. Being a cheap skate I have loads of ancient Teach yourself books which I was gifted years ago so I've dug them out and downloaded a (free!) app that sets you daily exercises to do. So far so good and for1 weeks effort ive made some good progress.
Just looked out the window and it's snowing again! But where its coming from I don't know as it's bright sunshine and clear skies! Ah well best do some cleaning then!

What is it about January that makes it drag so considerably 😂 Only the 14th and yet it feels like the 114th and I thought I was Oh So Clever and kept enough back after the early pay day to get rid of this feeling. Clearly not enough so I shall plan more for Christmas 2026.
I think in hindsight the lovely (but unrealistic) Relatives birthday is what has added pressure to my carefully planned budget. We did go for Sunday lunch and I don't think it's something we've done since Mothers Day 2025, and tbh it was really really good so perhaps I should be less grumpy about the money. Eating out these days is such a rare treat that I feel hard done by if it's pricey and utterly rubbish. Cost came in at £140 for 5 people - main, pudding and 2 rounds of drinks.
To compensate it's Eat the Feeezer month and this week's food budget was cut to £80 which was excellent although I forgot tea bags so will need to pop out and get some.
Today's song is in dedication to eldest yoof as I have turned into neurotic helicopter parent as part of GCSE Bootcamp. Tbf he has been appreciative after some early grumbling and he needs someone cracking the whip to get him to knuckle down!
Debt wise I am gearing up for March when the 1st of my 0% deals end. I'm oddly nervous about paying it off entirely- it's quite reassuring doing my twice daily bank account check and seeing a lovely big chunk of money there untouched. Resisting the urge to balance transfer just to keep it sat there .......

Good morning.
I'm still here, still reading along with other people's diaries. Not much has happened money wise in the World of Lzzy in the last week tbh. Another weekend worked last weekend which will make Feb a good pay day but January is all about clinging onto the savings and staying in budget 😂. Food budget for the month looks ok - noone has starved during Eat the Freezer January and I'm hoping to have saved £50 from that monthly budget this month. DH has been busy eating the homemade soup that i had deemed "pretty disgusting" without too much complaint. Not as much saved as I had hoped but better than nowt.
Trying to drum up a few more side hustling gigs as the early part of the year is looking sparse. Sounds dead easy but self promotion has never really come easily to me!
