She was about to be in charge of the carving knife so had tea, followed by a very big glass of wine when she sat down!Floss, thank goodness no-one was hurt 😥 although a real shock 😳 I am surprised that Meg didn’t have a stiff drink rather than a cup of tea.

@StickyTheStickInsect please take care of yourself - losing a parent is so difficult.
I managed to receive very little that is not edible or consumable - chocs, wine, gin & candles - but someone gave me a set of 3 Kilner-type jars 🤷♀️ and I already have lots of spare, empty coming out of my ears 🙄
Anyway, am looking forward to the new thread, and will be lurking to keep tabs on all your journeys 😊2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

@StickyTheStickInsect
sorry for your loss. It's a difficult time of year for so many people made worse by the expectation of everyone needing to be jolly.
My mom died at the beginning of December last year but it's take til now for me to be bursting into tears occasionally. I have a habit of telling people who have had a loss to be strong but know how difficult that can be. Sometimes sitting down and having a good cry might be the best thing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @StickyTheStickInsect, so sorry to read your sad news and like Floss and Daisy said please make sure to take care of yourself too (or get your familam to make sure you do take a breather now and again!)
Had a very slow start yesterday, body decided that it wasn’t cooperating with anything, so it was an enforced film and rest day instead.. 🫣
House is fairly clean, all rubbish and recycling is out ready for collection, all gift bags are in the big Xmas bag for use next year along with the stockings and general gibble & yule card tin.
Leftover turkey has been divided into two.. some sliced and frozen, some chunked ready to be made into a butter turkey curry tomorrow 😋 Leftover beef has also been sliced and frozen for a roastie at a later date!
Had a small walk round the park in the sun to help me feel a little more human again!Also collected DS2’s gifted lottocard winnings of £5..
Catching up with other familam later and will be eating there 😉
Planning a batch cooking day tomorrow as everyone is working Mon, Tues, Weds next week and will need lunches..
As always sending hugs 🤗, sticks 🪵 & spoons 🥄 for those in need..💗"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇

Been absent from this thread for most of this year as work has been very time-consuming. 2026 is a new year and the team is coping well with all the change. So 2026 i'm going to refocus on the house and family.
But something i have been successfully doing this year is litter-picks and counting the items, with the aim of 2025 items. (not only good for the environment but remaining dog is getting elderly and likes the slower walks that litter-picking ensures). Just in from my latest litter-pick and now up to 1850 with 4 days to go.20*25 for 2025: 489 / 50019 -

@StickyTheStickInsect - I am so sorry for your loss and the trauma of your mum’s illness. Sending hugs as everyone has already said how kind you need to be to yourself xx
@Floss - such a shame for your son and Meg to have that happen over their beautiful new kitchen. I am glad the builder will resolve things without fuss.It sounds as though there has been some lovely festivities amongst the Declutterati. We had a great time with the family too.I like my decorations to be up until Twelfth Night so won’t be decluttering those yet. I will need to go through the fridges tomorrow and work out what I want to freeze as I do cook in abundance for Christmas. It will be nice to have that to draw on in January and February though.15 -
