    oh no no no!!! We started learning recorder in what you would call middle school.  And then I continued playing when I was in high school which went (at that time, in Ontario) to grade 13, nowt to do with the music.  It just meant that the people that went that far were likely to go to uni or college instead of getting an apprenticeship or directly in to the work force.  I never took any official exams for music beyond the general music classes and then a course called Collegium Musicum at uni.

    Brie thank you so much, if they still play I can pass them on to the recorder group leader so they are ready for anyone who wants to swap to a new type and learn a new set of fingerings or maybe someone who joins the group but doesn't have a recorder.  I informally can do descant but am learning on the alto/treble, very much enjoying it.

    Just let me know, no problem if you have another place in mind to pass them on to
