Your flowers are always so lovely Mrs SD. Thank you for panda advice, your recommendation has a lovely face. I bought a Steiff one in the end, he is quite small and came in a huge box. Next time I am at a loss to find something I will ask the de clutter posse.
The cruise is mid November. I do hope we move before then.

Well I thought I was in for a dull, lazy day and was sat thinking I will just finish this blanket and then I will wash up. The house buyers turned up for a visit out of the blue and stayed a couple of hours! I didn't offer them a drink as the 4 mugs not packed were all in need of washing .Hahahaha.
Tonight I emptied my huge Amazon storage box of craft stuff to look for something. I found another couple of blankets that I had forgotten about. So that is 6 complete so far Happy Kitties. I will aim to make more, all good to go by the end of October. Also Thanks too basketcase. Much of my knitting challenge for the gift of warmth and my lap blankets are made with donated wool.
To go, a carrier bag of wool scraps to give to Mum. She knits stuff for premee babies.
a printed Christmas stocking piece of fabric for someone at craft club.
a slipper pattern and a ball of chunky wool for my friend
some magazines given to me and passed on.
Used up a perfume and other toiletries. Everything out helps.

Some time ago @Vulpix commented that she would be interested to hear details of my trip to Japan so now that it is imminent (flying Sat) here is the info for anyone else who might also like to know.
19 day trip starting in Tokyo (greater Tokyo area pop.37million). Visiting temples and also making our own sushi which is then supposed to be our lunch (dread to think what mine will look like), going to the top of the Tokyo Tower (taller than the Eiffel Tower apparently).
Travelling to Lake Ashi for a boat cruise and hoping for clear skies to see Mount Fuji, then cable car into the Owakudani Valley (volcano region). Next will be a "handkerchief dyeing experience" - not sure if that means we watch experts doing it or are meant to have a go ourselves.
Then we are off to visit Japan's oldest castle Matsumoto, then onto a miso factory to view production. A visit to Unesco World Heritage site Shirakawa-go with their traditional housing Gassho-Zukuri ("like praying hands").
Staying in Kanazawa which is famous for its gold leaf which it uses in abundance including on ice cream. Also going to see some world famous Japanese gardens.
Then onto Kyoto and a stroll through the famous bamboo grove. A real highlight for me although I'm sure it will be jam packed with tourists.
Bullet train to Hiroshima. I have to say I do feel a bit uneasy about how I will feel after visiting the Atomic Bomb Dome. Okonomiyaki pancake is a speciality here - it looks quite substantial made with meat and cabbage.
On our way to our final destination Osaka we pop into Himeji Castle. Our last full day will be visiting Nara renowned for the free roaming sacred deer that will bow for treats - really looking forward to that day.
There's a lot more to the trip, I will only have four free afternoons over the 19 days, but this is already a long post.

Hi everyone
@BlueJ94 lovely photos.
@regnbue - amazing sounding trip to Japan; my friend has visited Japan three times, she loves it there.
Agree about compliments @weenancyinAmerica; last year I emailed two separate venues to thank them for organising a concert and for a very helpful member of staff. I haven't emailed companies about my fave products but I may well do that!
I think I'm recovering from jet lag but have managed to catch covid somewhere along the wayI had my decorator booked in today but she doesn't want to risk catching covid so we've had to postpone. I've been clearing the living room & porch in preparation and put 2 coats in the charity bag - they've been in the porch unworn for about 3 years!; I've also put away my summer clothes and added a couple to the charity bag. They don't count till they're delivered to the CS tho....
love to all

The Japan trip sounds incredible.
Today I have given away two jigsaws. Probably doesn't sound much but they take up a bit of room so now storage space cleared for my other things.
Items ready for a charity shop. Just need to drop them. It is a suitcase, some trainers and a cup tree. I am sure I will add other bits to it before I hand it over.

Starting afresh.

my new fire surround was fitted today.I am so excited. It is so beautiful and made especially to my requirements. The mouldings exactly match the door and window frames. I just need to get some soft things to stick on the bottom of the fire so that it doesn't scratch the hearth. I am such a a lucky girl. It cost £200 less than the original one that I ordered and that's without the additional £345.00 that they wanted at the last minute to transport it to the Isle of Wight. It's stunning.
Had a man come today to look at the leaky roof. It's a shared problem with us and our neighbours ( terraced house) We have a chimney which was only half removed that needs removing. Then roof need tiling underneath and the gully between needs lead. Sounds expensive. Awaiting a quote.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,
