@floss - DGD has gone to a Uni and college specialising in agriculture, equine studies, sport and veterinary nursing - she is doing an equine course. It is 4 years if you go through to a degree. Sox is a lot better with no more sick episodes but disgusted by his treatment with only dry food yesterday. He does not like wet and windy weather and has stayed in the house most of the time. This morning he sat for ages on the windowsill grumbling at pigeons on neighbours roof.
Unpacked and sorted most of stuff from DGS4's school trip away. His mum had washed it - most belongs down at his dad's house so I'll declutter that today. Hoping plasterer is going to turn up. I need to take children to dentist after school today, go to tip, deliver some birthday cards and post an overseas one. Trying to get ahead for Christmas - I have two thirds of the money envelopes ready to write and two presents bought. I will be away much of October so November will be upon us quickly. I'm going to DD's for Christmas again and coming back Boxing Day to join DS2 with all 4 of his children. Worked well last year.
Right need to get them to school. Not much more to report decluttered but I'm working on it.
885 Shower cap (DGD4 pointed out to me that it had a large hole in it) I usually get free ones from hotels but not stayed anywhere recently.2025 Decluttering Campaign 885/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

More kitchen decluttering done.
19 items dropped off at the charity shop this morning which included mugs, kitchen utensils, Christmas items like bowls which I have no use for now.

382) drip tray from an old George Foreman I haven’t had for years into recycling

My neighbour is having some work done.(drilling) It woke me up, I thought it was Mr V, snoring. Most confused when the noise was there but he was downstairs!
We seem to have found a removal company for the 30th. Still not confirmed that this will be the actual moving date. Also step son and partner will be here to help on the day. I will say partner not GF, they are in their 40's.This has eased my anxiety quite a bit.
We took the headboard down in our room. It is actually a very heavy table top. It was secured by belt AND braces. My job today is to vacc the many screw holes out and start with filling.
I have a list of little but time consuming jobs to do. I love being able to cross things off a list.

My neighbour was doing drilling this morning too and I got woken up in the night by a strange noise which now I think must have been the strong winds. I am still feeling tired with this cold that I must have caught in Brighton or London last week. I cancelled all my appointments for today and tomorrow. I had to book another dentist appointment for next week as I chipped my tooth again. My husband is going out tomorrow now instead so I am making up a bag for him to take. So far it is a pair of boots and a new hand lotion that is meant to be lemon scented, but doesn’t have a nice scent to me. I’m going to go and look around upstairs in a minute.I’m just going to stay in the next few days and read and watch TV in my pyjamas. I tried to call my GP to book a flu jab, but there is a fault with the line.2025 GOALS

Monday: Very breezy at 05:30 gusts up to 37mph. I slept well just one bathroom visit but up late 12:30. Currently a bright autumn day - fluffy white clouds in a blue sky with some bright sunshine but the wind - 19mph with 43mph gusts 😬 Today’s forecast is for a high of 18°C (feeling like 14°C due to the wind), low 14°C & a 35% chance of rain. 13:30 DH has headed out on his first walk of the day - playing catch up with his steps 😉 A short light shower at 13:55. Straight into cheerleading:
GrannyKate, your DGD’s Uni/college course sounds very challenging but also rewarding 🥹 I wish her every success ☺️ Very pleased to hear that Sox is a lot better 😊 Hopefully you will be forgiven soon for imposing a dry biscuit diet yesterday 😉 Fingers crossed that the plasterer turns up today 🤞You have a busy day in store 😊 As I read your post, it reminded me that I need to write the rest of this years birthday cards - just the 18 cards to write 😥 Good luck on ‘Mission Getting Ahead for Christmas’ 🍀 Loved This “885 Shower cap (DGD4 pointed out to me that it had a large hole in it) ….” 😊 Now I am wondering if DGD4 is as good at decluttering her own possessions 😉
Excellent decluttering in the kitchen Happy_Kitties 👏 So good in fact that you have reached & passed your next milestone, so a Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way
vulpix, This “My neighbour is having some work done.(drilling) It woke me up, I thought it was Mr V, snoring. Most confused when the noise was there but he was downstairs!” is absolutely hilarious 🤣 Everything crossed that the 30th is confirmed as your moving date 🤞 especially as you will have extra hands to help 🥹 Good luck with your “list of little but time consuming jobs to do. I love being able to cross things off a list.” 🍀
Wednesday2000, crikey the winds must have been strong to wake you 😬 Sorry to hear about the heavy cold 😔 Hopefully a couple of days of self care, rest & relaxation will see you back to fighting fitness 🙏 Ouch to the chipped tooth 😣
14:15 DH has just got back & is making a stir fry (today is an 800kcal day) I am watching the athletics but will start writing birthday cards. Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 😊 See you later 👋

Oh it's a wet one today. Been soaked twice already!
Also neighbour upstairs has flooded me. I phoned the council to let them know. We think it's when he drains his bath that it's coming in through my ceiling - how lovely!
No update as of yet but we'll see what they say.
I noticed it late last night and it had stopped already before I went to bed so fingers crossed it's an easy fix for them.
Had a meeting that ended early so instead of reading the news and drinking more coffee I went in and tidied up the living room a bit. Still need to change all the throws on the couch and wash the floors but I'll do that later.

When i was a student I was aware that i would do practically anything to avoid revision. Well today i was supposed to be doing a CGT return for my uncle. And carrying on with the window painting. So i tidied and cleaned our bedroom a bit and sorted the drawers a bit and cleaned the bathroom a bit. Nothing particularly effectively… i chucked out a few toiletries that I will never use and rehomed to a better location some others but not a lot.
i have already sorted the figures for the CGT return and put them on a spreadsheet. I have also scanned all the receipts for the improvement costs. So you would think it wasn’t that hard. Well i have had a go, completed and printed out the form but i am not 100% certain what they want so i have posted on another page about what evidence to send. We shall see. There is a 60 day deadline and i am not even sure how they count that but i think is towards the end of next week so i need to get it in the post this week.No progress at all on the windows but i tried a bit of puttying inside yesterday (raining outside) to see if i can do it and it doesn’t look like a dogs breakfast so I shall try undercoating it tomorrow and see how we go.8 -
Evening all.
Goodness but it’s been a trifle breezy this end of the island today. Not so bad now but earlier we had 80mph gusts. I’m near the Needles and we always get a report of the wind there.
All that’s been Decluttered today is dirt. Cleaned my stairs carpet, little patch in the sitting room and the arm of the sofa where DH sits.Did also declutter a Chinese chicken curry from freezer and a microwave rice from pantry shelves.
Wrote my meal plan for the week using the list I made on weekend of what’s in the freezers, made life much easier. Also spent some time looking at old fashioned meals. Downloaded a few recipes like cheeseburger pasta bake, chicken supreme and a chicken and stuffing bake which I’ve made before but forgot to save the recipe.
Have a good night all. Night night xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

My husband’s eye got worse over the weekend. He only told me today or i would have had him back in A&E over the weekend. The surgery appointment was 1 pm today. We thought it might be laser surgery but it was a full reattachment of his retina. They found several tears and an old one that he hadn’t noticed. He waited four and a half hours so we were getting worried they wouldn’t get to him today. Finally got home just before 7 pm. He was pretty shaky coming out of surgery. They got a wheelchair and I brought the car round to get him in.Moorfields has no parking so last time it happened he got sent out into a dark rainy night completely unable to see. I stopped on a red route just behind an ambulance and grabbed him before he fell into the traffic.Anyway a glass of wine and he is feeling better.8

wishus said:My last total was 228.
Since then, drum roll.... we did a tip run! 2 sacks of rubble, a freezer, an old stereo system, and various clunky bits totalling around 20 items. So that's 248.
Since then I've binned 2 pairs of shoes, 250!
Some things have been added to eebygum, and a big pile of clothes has been sorted for the chazzas from OH's wardrobe. I have to sort mine out now. So the total is 250 for now.
To charity - a huge pile of shirts, t-shirts, scarfs, hats - 60 items.
SOLD! - 2 books!
Chucked: 2 pairs of split/stained jeans, 3 bras, 3 pairs of socks that have had it, 3 old pairs tights, 3 holey t-shirts.
An old pill box.
A big pile of papers.
Given away - a bag of cut rosemary.
So 250 balance + 60+2+2+3+3+3+3+1+1+1 = 329.Keep reading books!
