Suseesu, Frankie is a handsome man. He might be slow to come round but he will. I had almost resigned myself as Fomo was the same. It took him 2 years to thaw and now he is our shadow and a big stroking fan. Never picked him up though, he is 7. Interactions are always on his terms. I like the idea that he is so wary of strangers no one would ever get near him. He is still even wary of us under the right conditions!  We have another cat who came from the same poor home. She isn't a scaredy cat but interactions are strictly on her terms, she spends most of her time outside, in all weathers.
Moving house is a worry. Currently we live in cat's paradise with a wood on the doorstep. At the new house they will have to cross a road to get to some countryside.

Reading about everyone's decluttering is making me itch to do some. I am in limbo at the moment with everything in boxes.

Still feeling a bit rough today but no excuse so I am off to do something, anything. Vx

Hi all, yesterday was a productive day but very little decluttered from my house 😂. Did the smallish sm shop and all put away then went into ln and tackled the furniture from the Swedish shop that had been delivered. Started with the footstool which was very easy, just screw the legs on 😂, then onto the armchair. 4 main pieces, plus seat cushion and legs.  6 bolt things, 2 screws and 2 hook things and that was it. It took about an hour because the last 2 bolt things were difficult to line up as it was difficult to see the receiving holes but it was a very interesting and clever construction and ln was very happy 😁. The plastic bags were binned and the cardboard put in ln's shed until I do the tip run today 😁. Then I temporarily decluttered 8 pots of rose cuttings into a corner of ln's garden until after the builders have been so another chunk of the side passage cleared 😁. I won't count them as it is only temporary 😁. I might have found a teenager to help with some of the heavy moving of the wood shed but not counting my chickens just yet 😂
Tomorrow we are out to lunch with friends we went on holiday with and will call into OH's dniece to drop off the food OH has in the freezer and a chicken curry I think OH will be cooking today so that should clear some space in the fridge and freezer 😂.

@Mrs SD your comment about meal planning reminded me that I have started a thing in a little notebook. Like a lot of people I suppose I get worn out with the "what shall we have for tea?" question so I wrote down all the meals we both like. OH and I alternate with the cooking. I only cook veggie meals but OH will sometimes do 2 meals, veggie for me and some meat for OH. Then I wrote down the days for 2 weeks and filled in what I had cooked on those days and when it is finished I will have 4 weeks of meals to refer to for when I cook iyswim. I have tried getting OH involved in the meal planning but have met resistance so I am sorting what I can for when I cook and when OH asks for suggestions I say whatever you want to cook 😂. I am hoping this will result in some engagement with the meal planning and make the shopping easier 😂

Right better get weaving and get the car loaded up again 😂.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

    Take care everyone

Two small electrical items taken to the tip today. My dad was already going with a lot of his own items so he kindly took them. Felt like a wasted fuel and journey just to take two items, so I had been waiting for a lot more. Glad he mentioned he was going.

Fridge sorted and some items removed.

Lovely pictures - Frankie is a handsome cat.  Sox is feeling sorry for himself as he was sick in the night at various spots round the house.  I discovered this when I walked bare foot to loo about 6am!!  Not been sick again but he is cross because I'm only giving him dry food today.

I got up early and assembled the new carpet cleaner.  It took a couple of hours but lounge carpet cleaned - I took a brush to spots and marks first and they have all come out well.  Water looked disgusting afterwards like those ads you see for carpet washers.  Nail brush was a bit soft but I found  a small old rubber and bristle brush late DH used to clean suede shoes with (probably 40 years old) and that worked a treat on some spots.  No outdoor shoes in lounge now. I may have a go at the bed settee tomorrow although there has been a change of plans and DGCs are here this week.  Cooking tea for the younger one.  His sister is supposed to be back here for 4 (exactly that now) but no sign so far.  She has been staying with friends over the weekend.

    880 Carpet cleaned
881 Underlay from bedroom 2 taken up and in bags for tip
882 Both lawns cut before it rained
883 Some shrubs cut back and some weeding
884 Tomatoes made into 5 pots of puree in freezer.

DD has decluttered her two today.  One to an archaeological trip to Athens before he starts year 3 and the other (with her horse) to her first term at uni.  I need to go and sort tea for DGS4.
