Hi chums only thing I managed to declutter this morning was my library book and some scraps of wool I was going to take some of the stuff from yesterdays decluttering to the charity shop, but the weather was absolutely cat & dogs here this morning .
DD dropped me at knit and natter coffee morning then went off to her friend in Wroxall as she's not seen her for several weeks because of all our visitors.
The library in Ryde is right by the bus stop so I timed it just right from the Coop to the library dropped the book off came out as the bus was pulling up
It drops me about a hundred yards from my house so I toiled the last bit in the lashing wind and rain and got rather damp, but a hot bowl of soup and some bread and butter warmed me up
Just checked the forecast still wet until tomorrow late afternoon so as I am going to a coffee morning in Northwood on Friday morning I will drop the CS stuff off in Cowes instead of Ryde. Its nice knowing that nothing is really very far away.
Wow 103 that's amazing I hope she gets the leg sorted out OK.
There was a lady this morning who comes to knit and natter and she is 85, I was chatting to her and she said she won't be around for three weeks as she's off to the mainland for a few days to she her 'chap ':) then off to Norway to visit her daughter who lives there. I love it that although I suppose the average age in the group is probably mid 70s the youngest is 50 odd and the eldest is 85 and we were having a lively discussion about women rights whilst knitting.
Anything spare we don't need craft wise we bring in and if someone wants it they are welcome.
One lady makes stuffed toys and uses any cut off ends of wool from our projects to stuff them with ,nothing is wasted
I took a small bag of small oddments in and gave them to her this morning .not long enough to make anything with but it will be used to stuff small toys. Everyone saves their scraps of wool for her and she says its surprising how every little bit get used up .
I believe she helps and volunteers with a disabled group who make small toys to sell at Christmas for the local charitiesI was reading online that around 30% of the population on the IoW is over 60 but everyone seems to be involved in community things so very little goes to waste and usually you can find someone who wants it
Right the kettle is calling me for a cuppa
Happy decluttering and try to keep dry .

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday: A dark, damp miserable day with a high of 21°C (feeling like 17°C), low 16°C & humidity 80%. It has rained on & off all morning & is still raining. The bin men had not turned up by 13:30 ☹️ I have written a shopping list as DH & DSis are going shopping today because DH has his last (for a while) laser hand treatment tomorrow & on Friday he has an appointment with the dentist. Before settling down to catch up with the cheerleading I did a sort out of both freezers. Nothing binned but now that everything is tidy, I can see what we have + I have one empty freezer drawer 🙂 I did notice that I have lots of bits & pieces of los for soup making so as the weather has changed DH & I can start making soups. Now I have a hot drink, timer is on & I can make a start on the cheerleading 😉 starting with yesterday’s posts:
Lovely to see you London_1 👋 Sounds like you have been really busy with lots of visitors & even managing to fit in a decent amount of decluttering 👏 Congratulations to your DD on the weight loss 🥳 This “DD has caught the habit (decluttering) now and as she has lost some weight she is getting rid of stuff too big for her via Vinted and Ebay and buying smaller sizes 🙂” was music to my ears 😊 Sometimes the decluttering bug appears to work by osmosis 😁 I absolutely loved This “The weather has been extremely like a new born baby ...wet and windy 🙂” very descriptive 😂 Thank you for continuing to share your family with us 🥹 Hg tomatoes & potatoes 😋 I might just have to pop in 🤣 I will keep everything crossed that the winter isn’t too cold 🤞 See you soon 👋
CRANKY40, as you can see from my comments above, you inspired me to sort out my freezers 😄 Excellent decluttering of both the freezer (hope it stays tidy 🤞) & the coat hooks. Very impressed with your total of 200 items out in August 👏 so I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ Also a great start to your September decluttering 👏
BlueJ94, it is appalling that your black bins are only emptied every 21 days especially during the summer months 😡 You are definitely on a roll with decluttering your room of doom 👏
Green_hopeful, This comment “My worst unidentifiable freezer item experience was something I thought was parmesan cheese but turned out to be white chocolate cheesecake.” had me in stitches 🤣 I have this wonderful picture of you grating cheesecake over your spaghetti bolognese 🙊 ……. I apologise profusely 😔
BlueJ94, I jumped forward to see other people’s responses & for what it is worth I would keep the chair until after you have finished decluttering ☺️ You might just find the perfect space for it 😊
I broke off from the cheerleading as DH & DSis got back & I have been putting away the shopping including portioning up meat & weighing out potatoes 😉 DH is doing so well on his weight loss (& it is helping me as well) that anything I can do to assist is all to the good 😊 It is 16:20 now & the weather has improved - I can actually see some blue sky 🙂 however it is very breezy 🌬️ Will post now & come back later to continue with the cheerleading. Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 🙂

Just home from work and no commitments and looking round at what decluttering I can do qnd paralysed thinking of why I can't do any categories and all the justins.
Nothing is simple now. All v easy stuff is out but each room has stuff. Will try and corral stuff.
I have frogs so maybe I'll do them first.

Talking to my cousin and agreed I should make a list of things that are important to organise, triggered by my ankle hurting as walking home and got worse ( not sure how walking did it) and decided I'd put one of my many stretchy support things on it.
I have a box of bandages to suit most parts of the body but I've clearly tidied in away into some odd space so been up and down stairs increasing my pain ( house is on 3 floors) to no availa and realising that a plan is needed. A rest watching TV to start with but in frustration picked up curtains to go in cs bag and a book and listed a couple of items.
We'll see how long my rest is14 -
@TC77 why not utilise your rest by making a start on that list? Then when you're not hobbling, maybe start corralling categories so you can see what there is.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Wednesday2000 said:suzeesu2000 said:Mum, aged 103, managed to cut her lower leg rather badly, lots of blood but not as bad as first thought. She lives in her own flat in a sheltered housing complex but the warden was covering other places today. Paramedics came and called another paramedic to come and dress the wound.Had to organise district nurses to come in and change dressing tomorrow as she’s leaking already.
Next had to try to organise her carers as she’s moved from the social services support phase and has to pay for care now. Preferred agency can’t accommodate the times she needs them at. Back to social services again.Decluttered all the clothes washing today. Just the big bath sheets and mats to do tomorrow and then all laundry cleared. Will declutter the very few bits of ironing tomorrow as well.Charity people coming tomorrow afternoon to collect the remaining things decluttered from the airing cupboard and landing. Found some brand new and still in the wrappers photo frames they can have too. They are silver and I only do wood now. Pantry shelves declutter also going to them.
Lovely weather today, a couple of showers and a bit breezy so I can breath and function.
Almost got half a shelf clear in the freezer woohoo!!
Have a good night all xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

@Floss, thank you I'm making that list and sent a very overdue email.
@suzeesu2000 Glad you're mum is getting help, as others have said social care system is really struggling.
Reminded me I need to cancel the charity collecting bed in October (soonest they could do) as has been collected.
Think I will look out sheets for the CS as ones we will never use as DDs bought their own.
Hope I haven't sounded too negative - too many things in flux at the moment.14 -
Bluej, I am glad you are using your chair. Sorry to hear your dog ate your sofa, a declutter you didn't expect!
suzeesu, sounds like your Mum and you have had a much better day today. x
TC, you are not negative, you just sound overwhelmed. Having to rest your ankle is the perfect time to write your lists as Floss said. You sound like you have too much space, tame one part of it first and then radiate out.
We are home. A lovely time was had. Ds and family are still there till weekend. The Brecon Beacons reminds me of where I live but without the numbers of tourists that we get. We were actually very lucky with the weather. Rained a lot as we drove there and has rained a lot since we came home.
No moving date. Solicitor is still waiting for something from somebody, who knows? I am going to pack up the clothes in our wardrobes tomorrow. I just want to feel like something is happening. I am doing considerable stress eating!
