Welcome @Iloveyoutoo we are a very eclectic gang of lovely people. If you are looking to recycle some money from stuff and keep costs down, a suggestion would be if you are in any groups on face book or other social gatherings/work is ask for packaging for free. People are happy to move it on win/win. Declutter styles are just finding what works for you. You could start off small by sorting the bits of the "junk drawer" if you have more pick one from where it is bothering you i.e no more room. Any attachments to items leave them for now and store where you can like with like and that will help decide what needs to go. You could go big and remove a large item first, say a coffee table taking up too much room. It will a long journey but please don't bog yourself down. Personally for selling I prefer to use Ebay. Good luck.

@ basketcase your offer of yarn is extremely kind. I could always use your yarn if @Florenceem doesn't want it all. I run a craft group at the local community club which is a charity in a diverse area encouraging sessions for the whole community. I can help you declutter and take it straight to club so that it won't be adding to mine! 🤣 Message me if @ florenceem declines your amazing offer. Welcome new members of the declutterati
I've been making cushion covers but sadly not material from stash, however at least the material came in and has been used immediately instead of going on to a shelf and me being unable to cut it up as its so gorgeous 😍 😆
I'm going to finish that this afternoon then get on with other sewing/projects before they become proper frogs.
I did get a lovely flannelette shirt from m@t@l@n and again immediately turned it into a tunic as I don't go for shirts these days. Sadly when I was logging the receipt (so I know what it was when the cc bill comes in) I realised we had swiped the shirt twice at the self service till grrr. I contacted the online chat but they said I'd have to go back to the store and since its 30odd mile away I think I'll just have to accept the shirt cost £34 instead of £17. Annoying, decluttering money unnecessarily is not the aim of the game. I won't be anywhere near the store till next week and I cant see that they would necessarily believe i only bought one, how can I prove that after so long? Anyway the sewing it up worked well so I'm happy enough with it and I'm pleased I sorted it immediately rather than leaving it lying around for a while.

Wow.. the train has positively zoomed along..
Spent a week away visiting various places I’ve had on my bucket list for the best part of 20 years!Wonderful OH booked some time away for my birthday gift yet we had to wait till now to go (rooms were booked up!)
So.. I have a confession.. items.. specifically books have entered instead of leaving.. The joys of visiting Hay-on-Wye! ☺️
That said, there is now boxes in the garage with items for charity, books to go and freebay/marketplace things.
Oh and DS1 completed his Tudor Corner Lego set while we were away, it’s now attached to the museum and bookshop.. This sits in the front room on a large shelf. There isn’t a room in the house that doesn’t have some sort of Lego item in it.. 🤣 He even sorted his room and purchased a new unit so things could be shuffled, cleaned and displayed better. I do love his sets.. enjoy moving the figures about to see if he notices 🤣 they bring us all happiness in our own way.. ☺️
Anyhoo.. I digress, have only skimmed the hundreds of posts missed while away.. 😳
@Florenceem, glad Mr F is improved, do worry that you’ll be injured if you have to continually try to assist him with moving and getting up, that said if your posts have shown us all one thing, it’s that you’re a wonderful person with grit and determination in spades. Please let the nurse know if you’re struggling they have a duty of care to you as well as Mr F.
@vulpix giant (yet gentle) squishes heading your way, again please please take care, rest, breathe, cry and do anything that helps you reset and work out where you go from here and what works best for you in managing such a large change in your life. We often put ourselves aside too easily thinking others have it worse.. it doesn’t change the fact that this happened to you and that you’re just as worthy of concern, support and assistance as anyone else.
(think this applies to @Muddy_Walker as well)
My mum has always found it difficult to accept extra support when it’s really needed, have to remind her often that it’s deserved and that it’s irrelevant what condition/ailment is affecting her, she’s worthy of the treatment/help.
Hellooo @Iloveyoutoo 👋🏼 welcome, it’s lovely here..
I save bits n bobs of packaging from whatever comes in (When DS1&2 have various things delivered, I swipe the packaging 😉) I’ve even used rubble sacks split and made into sheets to send things, use both black tape or paper tape to seal the package & a trusty sharpeee pen unless it’s going have a printed label on it.
Having a slow day and feeling a little bushed, B12 taken so hoping that’ll give me a boost by tomorrow..
List writing with ideas/things to do for the coming weeks, OH has surgery scheduled mid feb so I want to be organised for when he comes home to be able to concentrate on taking care of him..
I’ve left some lemon posset, Jammie duffins and a selection of fruit along with some nice teas in the TLC carriage..

vulpix - I was shocked at your news. Please rest up.
I_Love_comps - welcome - we are all working at decluttering in our own ways - what suits one doesn't suit another.
Floss - the nurse was going to put on a dressing but didn't have a suitable one. I will make sure that the next nurse to visit pays it attention.
Wednesday2000 - have you heard of TOMM - another way of setting up a cleaning routine.
Deni_debt-free_dreamer - I am going to take my soft plastics collection to Ald tomorrow.
Soontobeoap - I think @ basketcase was offering yarn to Vulpix not me. I am extremely tempted to ask for some but won't.
daisy_1571 - expensive mistake. Please get into the habit of taking a receipt in store and studying it before leaving.
MadamMim2013 - I had to resort to a strong painkiller. I have told Mr F that he needs to help himself up more than he is at present. Lemon posset sounds yummy.

I went to Church - told Mr F to text if he needed me - phone has to be silent during the service. I left home at 10.05 and got back at 11.55 - the longest I have left him. Mr F said that he was just going to text me. When I left him - I said - cross your legs and clench your buttocks!
Mr F walked down the hall way and back when he last got up to go to the cloakroom.
I am going to ask the occupational health about a stool for Mr F's legs. He needs to have them up because of the swelling but the stool we are using is not really suitable.
I have finished my week of noting outs & ins to the house.
Out - 14 shopping trolley and 14 bags full to the charity shops + 5 parcels and a bag of shopping bags.
In - items that are not taking up permanent residence - newspaper and food..Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Soft plastics left the house yesterday and today has been a house sorting day. I can tell that spring is in that air because a) all the cobwebs have come out of hiding and b) I have lost count of the number of time I’ve been out to the doing shed. It’s really nice being able to get in there…easily!I’ve also repotted a praying plant which will be going to live at work come Tuesday. The parent plant came to live with me from one of my old employers and this is one that started as a cutting from that plant. He’s clearly very happy as he’s now shooting from the roots as well as the original cutting and getting quite frothy.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
