Cheers. So I assume you apply for the current account then as soon as opened the RS?masonic said:
From memory just as quick and easy as other LBG accounts.s71hj said:Given the likely interest rate trajectory the bank of Scotland 5.5% fix RS finally looks attractive to me. Does anybody have experience of applying, how quick it is etc? Thanks.Yes - CA first then RS.When I applied for CA, process failed right at the end after stating I didn't want an overdraft. I thought I would have a half done application and issues then obtaining a CA. Turned out my application was accepted and all was good. Had quite a laugh with very pleasant Scottish CS woman informing me that she was pleased to tell me I did *not* receive an overdraft. After that just like any other LBG application. I had to wait a few days to gain access to BoS online to make application for RS. I tried applying for RS as a BoS customer but not logged on, as I didn't have details, and application failed. But this was before the view unification of LBG accounts. I'm not sure now but it may be possible to apply for BoS RS if you have Lloyds or Halifax online account ?

HRBS Christmas Regular Saver 30 Day Notice Opening ExperienceCalled and asked for application forms to be sent. Duly received and completed. Returned with own envelope and 2nd class postage on 4/12. Received 3 missed calls and 2 emails on 9/12. HRBS use a secure email service, egress.com to send account details for first deposit, as I had stated that I would fund with faster payment for first deposit. Never heard of egress.com before and needed to create account to get to message sent. Bit wary of having to create account and share some personal data with a third party, egress, to access HRBS message. Anyway got pleasant enough message from HRBS person and HRBS RS account details. Setup transfer, and as did following day CoP passed. All good. HRBS stated I had 5 days to make first deposit or account *may* be closed. Stated that as soon as they see deposit made will send passbook. With BS that have passbook accounts, I'm pretty sure I'm missing one or two passbooks, as this is almost certainly a manual process to post and may not happen. So note to self to check that I receive d**n passbook. Then they get particular about needing to have a passbook to do transactions. When I opened a Kent Reliance RS in person they didn't have any passbooks and told me they wouldn’t send one in the post, but it would be ok as it wasn't really that important. But I could get one in person; great. Got to plan a nice day trip to Gravesend to get new RS some time...1

BoS RSIn the past I've registered for online banking at BoS using details for one of my Halifax accounts. This has allowed me to login and open BOS savings accounts, including their RS, without a BoS current account. With the combining of LBG accounts now visible in all 3 online banking I'm unsure if you'd now be able to register for all 3 online banking using the details of just one account from one of the 3 banks, and opening bank specific savings accounts that way?3

I just tried it and unfortunately it did not work. I think you might need a current account in each of the three different banks.PRAISETHESUN said:BoS RSIn the past I've registered for online banking at BoS using details for one of my Halifax accounts. In theory the Halifax Regular Saver doesn't require anything to be held with Halifax (or even LBG). That being said, occasionally someone posts saying they're having issues and generally the easiest way to fix them is to open a Halifax current account first.Hal17 said:

In todays post now forming a formidable compost heap on my desk
- 5 maturity letters from Coventry building society - I thought that there were just 3 accounts maturing ...
And 17 letters from Principality!

Mine were spread over a week. They could probably have paid me 15% interest on my six month regular savers if they went paperless!ForumUser7 said:

BoS RS
Tried opening this account without a BoS current account. It suggested logging in with Lloyds or Halifax details would help, but both logins failed. Tried opening as a new customer, got to the end only to have a 'something went wrong ' message. So have opened a current account. Suspect I need to wait for the activation code for online access to arrive in the post to open the RS account.

Not quite, but say 6 2nd class letters per account (at business rate) call it £5 on top of the £26 return. Can't be assed working out the %age but it's a chunk.surreysaver said:
