For those struggling with the MonBS app, if you persevere through the seemingly endless 'loading animations' and random logouts you will eventually be able to get the account opened. Make sure you keep the screen active when on the 'application in progress' screen.

It's incredibly fragile but it will eventually work (took my wife about 40 mins and me about an hour).
I haven't got past the system maintenance page over the past 2 hours.
    Have you updated the app?
I had the previous version and couldn't log on after making numerous attempts.  I updated it to the new version and still can't log on.
    Same here sadly

I can log into my app and have opened the new R/S but my hubby can’t (even though he could when we both opened the first R/S, it just stopped working 😤). We tried it on various devices, even deleting mine and trying his on my iPad, but no luck on any.

Well, thanks Monmouthshire, I had my regular saver strategy all worked out, and now you've forced me to re-plan it all over again. Up to £1000 a month at 7% with unlimited withdrawals... can't turn it down really.

... although the app's now kicked me out with an apology message about maintenance, so I'll have to wait.

I can't summon up any enthusiasm to attempt to deal with MBS, I've got better things to do than play guinea pig for their app development. I'll leave it at least a few days to see if things settle down. Good luck to those who want to try.
The later in the month you leave to fund it initially, the more profitable it is too.
Usually I wouldn't bother messing around with opening dates, but the £1000 a month limit would make it worthwhile. You could have £2000 earning 7% effectively for a whole year.

I've been one of the ones fortunate enough to get the App to work and it's given me an account number. How quickly does Monmouth credit payments to your account, bearing in mind the end of August falls on the weekend?

    Monmouthshire BS App Exclusive RS

OK, I'm late to the party here, but looking to join in the fun!

I applied online for the RS 6%/£500pm on 25/07, and have access to it online, so all registered for online access, but not yet funded it (will do mid next week). I don't currently have the App , but could download if it allowed access to the new Exclusive 7%/£1000pm RS.

So is it worth me trying to download the app now and trying to apply for the new exclusive RS? Anyone see any snags other than the iffy app? All advice welcome!

MonBS App Exclusive Regular Saver (7%)

Definitely, yes. Be prepared for many moments of frustration as the app continues its lack of cooperation.

I think the chances of success are low (a) with the new version, (b) after 5 pm. There was a window before that where things were working reasonably well with the previous version of the app, albeit not for everyone.
You have a week to get the account open in order to fund it this month. Perhaps tomorrow will bring another opportunity. ISTR it took them almost a full working day last time to get the app working again following the last launch.

Well, mine's up and running via the app without too much hassle. Can't help wondering though, have Monmouthshire really thought this through properly? I know others offer regular savers as a "loss leader", but the monthly limits mean they're not taking a massive hit per customer. Did someone at Monmouthshire add an extra zero by mistake?
