I seem to remember in the distant past a maturing Virgin Money savings account not converting to an EA account the next day after maturity and continuing to pay the maturing savings account interest until the belated conversion. If this is the case, and you don`t need the money (I have enough in EA accounts to cover the many RS SO`s going out today) it may be slightly advantageous to sit tight at a possible 10% until they actually convert. I won`t be going as far as flaneurs_lobster and adding in £250 today to the RS!2

I won`t be going as far as flaneurs_lobster and adding in £250 today to the RS!I don't remember that. But for a while some people got double interest if they closed the regular saver at the right time. Eventually VM seemed to 'fix' this by taking the site down "for maintenance" at the crucial moment. However, those RS accounts were on the VM online savings platform, not the ex-Clydesdale/Yorkshire platform the currently maturing RS account is on... so I wouldn't expect any of the historic RS interest glitches to happen this time round.0

Has anyone had any issues paying into a Nationwide RS recently?
My standing order from Santander has been returned today and I recall others having similar issues in the past.
Was anyone able to work out what happened and who was responsible?0 -
You have to empty the account first. Can move it all to easy access or withdraw all.friolento said:jaypers said:How do I close my Virgin RS? I’ve logged into online banking and the only closure form I can find says ‘Current Account’ closure. TIA.
That's the form you use, with the sort code and account number of your matured (or not yet matured) RS.1 -

Ignore the heading, just fill the form in regardless.jaypers said:How do I close my Virgin RS? I’ve logged into online banking and the only closure form I can find says ‘Current Account’ closure. TIA.0 -

No need to close the existing RS. I opened the new RS3 online. Transferred 250 from RS1 to RS3. Took 5 minutes.jaypers said:
