I opened the co-op regular saver about a month ago and it was pretty much instant as I remember.
(I did however have problems setting up the prerequisite co-op current account, in the end I phoned them and they sorted it very quickly)0 -
Co-op RS
One thing to note ... the 1 Year starts from the date they receive and accept your 1st deposit. Handy if you like depositing late in the month

Being nosey... How many Regular Saver accounts do you have? — MoneySavingExpert Forum5 -
Yes, that's very useful to know. My experience of opening the regular saver is that it takes up to 5 days for the account to open, even as an existing customer. So if you want any kind of control over the maturity date, always worth opening ASAP and depositing later.Bobblehat said:Co-op RS

DarlingtonBS Incorrect Interest Payment and Account Withdrawal/ClosureDoes anyone know of a fix ETA ?I was able to close my Issue 1 RS ok, however with Issue 3, there has not been a withdraw/close option for some days now. As I can get a better rate elsewhere, I've been able to withdraw the amount I deposited into the Issue 3 to an easy access account I have with Darlington and then do a withdrawal to nominated. This seems to have gone through ok. The RS Issue 3 now shows a balance of the interest credited on 31/12/25, so I haven't taken more than I should. However, I am concerned that there may be issues when an interest payment fix is implemented; account below minimum balance ? I might transfer £1 in just to be safe. Although, this is a workaround and I really wanted to close the account.0

When did you open your Issue 3 and how much had you paid into it? Most interest payments should be at least £1 I’d have thought.Born2Save_3 said:DarlingtonBS Incorrect Interest Payment and Account Withdrawal/ClosureDoes anyone know of a fix ETA ?I was able to close my Issue 1 RS ok, however with Issue 3, there has not been a withdraw/close option for some days now. Yes, I might be ok. I'm just concerned that if Darlington do a reversal on the interest paid, my account will be £0, and it may draw attention. I haven't received the transfer yet into my nominated so maybe the indirect route out has been blocked as well, but Darlington RS I3 and maybe I2 transfers to other Darlington accounts seems to go ahead fine.Kim_13 said:

Scottish BS
I have just received a phone call out of the blue and they wanted security information from me to continue the call, so I declined to give it out on an incoming call, and phoned back on their main number. Turns out they just wanted to check that I had received their post and passbook from back in December when I opened the Regular Saver account! Have never received that level of customer service from other institutions.3 -
Just looking for some advice on the FD RS. My standing order goes from FD current account 22nd. Obviously I can't fund RS directly from my Santander edge up account so do a standing order Santander to FD current account . Through a couple of maturity cycles the standing order is now over 2 weeks before the FD payment to the RS. What is the latest date of the month I can do the payment from Santander to FD current account for the money to be there in time for the FD to FD standing order?1
