It took the Coop a couple of days with me. Works fine once it's up and running.

Can anyone with the co-op reg saver say how long it takes them to open it?
I opened a current account over Christmas and applied for the RS on Monday, was surprised it didn't just appear automatically on the account page, 3 days later still nothing shows, is this how they work?
From my notes (online application) ....

Applied 06/11, Activated 10/11, appeared online 11/11

I opened the co-op regular saver about a month ago and it was pretty much instant as I remember.
(I did however have problems setting up the prerequisite co-op current account, in the end I phoned them and they sorted it very quickly)

    Co-op RS

One thing to note ... the 1 Year starts from the date they receive and accept your 1st deposit. Handy if you like depositing late in the month  :)
Yes, that's very useful to know. My experience of opening the regular saver is that it takes up to 5 days for the account to open, even as an existing customer. So if you want any kind of control over the maturity date, always worth opening ASAP and depositing later.

DarlingtonBS Incorrect Interest Payment and Account Withdrawal/Closure
Does anyone know of a fix ETA ?
I was able to close my Issue 1 RS ok, however with Issue 3, there has not been a withdraw/close option for some days now. As I can get a better rate elsewhere, I've been able to withdraw the amount I deposited into the Issue 3 to an easy access account I have with Darlington and then do a withdrawal to nominated.  This seems to have gone through ok. The RS Issue 3 now shows a balance of the interest credited on 31/12/25, so I haven't taken more than I should.  However, I am concerned that there may be issues when an interest payment fix is implemented; account below minimum balance ? I might transfer £1 in just to be safe.  Although, this is a workaround and I really wanted to close the account.

    There's a separate thread here -

Have you tried phoning them to ask if they can close your account manually?

When did you open your Issue 3 and how much had you paid into it? Most interest payments should be at least £1 I’d have thought.
