Suffolk - emailed postal application 22/12.
15.33 today got an email response saying postal opened.1 -
… That would explain why I haven’t heard anything. Found an undeliverable in my junk box, saying the file size is too large. PDF is 13.4MB, but the maximum allowed is 15MB. According to the message the email was 56MB - how?!Tried extracting the images but they come to more than 15MB that way as it’s a 4 page form 🤷🏻♀️1

Try 'PDFGear' to merge pages to one PDF. Or omit 4th page (office use only, IIRC)? Or ring them and ask if you can omit it, if you'd like to be certain?Kim_13 said:… That would explain why I haven’t heard anything. My Suffolk emailed postal/branch application was definately sent on the 22nd December and there's nothing in my junk mail or unsent box. I see that others have applied today and received confirmation & opening. Nothing showing online either. I've forwarded my original application by email to Suffork again this afternoon, and again I've received the automated we'll be in touch within 2 days email. Obviously, as is the case with Dudley BS Festive RS, there's a backlog with postal applications or they're missing my email? Dudley BS finally opened my postal Festive RS this morning after having applied for it over 2 weeks ago.Kim_13 said:… That would explain why I haven’t heard anything. I have quite a few regular savers maturing in Jan and Feb. Can any contributors enlighten me as to whether the following do or do not accept a “13th payment”?
Bank of Scotland
Chorley
Coventry
Darlington
Ford
Furness
Halifax
Loughborough
Mansfield
Newcastle
Principality
Progressive
Suffolk
West Brom
Thanks! 🙂
Chorley- Set end date but no maximum balance so yes.
Coventry- Depends on the account, some go by account month, others go by calendar month
Darlington- Is it the 12 Month RS Issue 1? If so then max balance is £3k so no 13th payment permitted
Ford- Yes
Furness- Yes
Halifax- Yes
Loughborough- Is it the 1Y Fixed Rate RS Issue 2? If so no.
Mansfield- Yes, but account doesn't mature as such, the bonus bit of the interest rate just ends, this'll need to be done by branch or post.
Newcastle- No
Principality- No
Progressive- No
Suffolk- Yes
West Brom- No3 -

The standing orders from Santander I cancelled at the weekend have been processed and are no longer showing as due to be paid on Friday.Make £2025 in 2025

No worries. One thing to note with Mansfield is that some have sent a completed application form for a new Bonus RS along with instructions to close the old one and they've refreshed the account that way.What_time_is_it said:

Alternatively if you prefer you can just ask them to close the account on a set future date, i.e. send instructions by post now telling them to close the Bonus RS on the day the bonus rate of interest expires. They'll then just keep hold of your passbook and carry out the closure on the date specified.
Withdrawals by post are by cheque but they can split it into smaller cheques of whichever values you wish for ease of getting into the banking apps.1
