I was drinking green tea but not wearing a shirt the last time I did mine and it worked.subjecttocontract said:
But someone already suggested it depends on wether you were wearing a green shirt. 😁😁Hattie627 said:
I've always used option 4 and never been turned down for a rollover to the 6 month RS. I think (but I may stand to be corrected) that the general consensus when previously discussing this was that the choice of option 2 or option 4 did not affect whether instructions to rollover to a 6mthRS were/were not accepted.clairec666 said:
Last time out (early Sep?) I didn't generate or receive any kind of secure message, my maturity instructions were accepted and I my account rolled over into the latest issue but with the same account number as before.janusd said:
chose option 4 this time (usually choose 2) - £200 in another new RS4, the rest to my EA account with - it has generated a secure message to them and have just received their reply...Hattie627 said:To those who have input maturity instructions for a maturing Principality RS and selected a rollover to a 6 month RS (Issue 4)
Whether you chose option 2 or 4, check out your sent secure messages. If there is no sent message transmitting your instructions, you will probably be okay. If there is a sent message, you may find that your instructions will be rejected as they will go to a human who may (or may not) reject them.Thank you for your secure message.
As requested, we will move £200 into a new 6 Month Regular Saver account and the remaining balance to your nominated Principality account. These funds will be in your account by the end of the day and you will keep the same account number.get in!

the reply wasn't from our usual unnamed friend, but from another colleague - for the record, I wasn't wearing a green shirt at the time of renewal.
subjecttocontract said:Who cares ? It only matters of you can do something about it. Nobody has come up with a definitive answer as to what option works with Principality so, that leaves the wearing of a green shirt and crossing your fingers.not you certainly.

Can't remember for the life of me whether I chose option 2 or 4. But judging from other people's experiences, it sounds like option 2 is the one to go for, option 4 gets checked by a human and you might get lucky.3 -
That's the answer then, after that scientific trial. Not wearing a shirt at all and I suspect Hattie 627 wasn't wearing a green shirt....mean's a green shirt is not needed.Bridlington1 said:

I've already got 3 reg savers and don't mind if I get another or not. Mine matures 25/10.1 -

(I only found this out after deleting the standing orders and payee details... doh!).Of the 4 conversions from issue 3 to 4 using option 2, (2 each for my wife & myself), none generated secure messages and all were actioned correctly.3 -
This morning, I chose option 4 for mine, with £200 into the 6 mth RS and the rest to be paid to a non-Principality account, and have a confirmation message displayed on the account (Maturity instruction Your maturity request has been received and will be completed on 24 October 2025.). I did not get any secure message. I have 3 x issue 3, and 2 x issue 4 already.janusd said:

I think it's the secure message thing that determines whether or not it's manually looked at and noticed. No message = no problem, new account issued. But why a secure message is generated for some, I don't think anybody on here has actually worked out, have they?Make £2026 in 2026

Exactly same for me. Option 4 chosen today, confirmation message, no secure message, existing 3's and 4'sfriolento said:

From memory, it's a case of following the prompts about where you want the funds to go, no secure message needed.ChewyyBacca said:
Is it similar to Principality maturity instructions, as in choose online and no secure msg to be sent to be applied manually?10_66 said:
The maturity instructions are available online. I can't remember how soon before maturity date.BestSeagull Good tip for the other fixed rate RS I hold with Suffolk BS! How did you give maturity instruction to Suffolk?
In case of the variable rate RS, Im not sure what steps I should have taken to access my funds sooner, without loss of interest.
I had given them clear instruction to send closure proceeds to my nominated account xxxxxxx
Also referenced their email that I received, regarding interest rate reduction and thus I can withdraw without any notice or penalty.0 -
Exactly where we got to last time. Secure message determines it but it remains a mystery why secure message generated sometimes and not other times.Slinky said:I think it's the secure message thing that determines whether or not it's manually looked at and noticed.
