I just applied for a new one on the 16/02/25 info said 3 working days to open, it was opened on the 19/02/25.

I think you'll be permitted to close the account completely, but not make a partial withdrawal
Baseline approach seems to be closure - Skipton does this I think IIRC. Generous approach offered by some is withdrawal.

First standing order payment for the Furness RS has gone today, not currently showing up in the Furness account. Presume it will show tomorrow, is this normal?

    Virgin Money Regular Saver Exclusive

I made a £250 transfer to my Virgin Money Regular Saver Exclusive account on Saturday afternoon. Strangely it is still showing as "Pending" on the Virgin Money app. Last month and other times I have made a transfer on a non-working day, it has normally processed by the next working day in the morning. Anyone else having the same issue this month?

Yes, same with my deposit. Sent at 8 am. Saturday was "Pending" until just after 5 today.

It's showing in my account this morning as having been received today rather than yesterday. In these days of instant transfers, where does it go overnight I wonder, and who gets the benefit from it?

It’s annoying and I find Furness slower than most TBH. It effectively goes into their account until such time as they run their processing to credit their internal accounts. They must do this on ‘Working Day 1’ and next morning, ‘Working Day 2’ run some sort of processing to credit their internal customer accounts. Could be quicker and don’t really understand why they don’t do something at the end of each day as well as the start. Saying this, suspect their IT and processes are out of date.

Letter received in the post yesterday advising my Nottinghamshire Branch Issue 1 Regular Saver reducing to 5.5% from 5.75% on 18th March
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Disappointing but not surprising. I presume this will follow the base rate until maturity now.
