Fiver Friday Challenge 2025

Hello all,
Another Friday and another fiver into my pot giving me £225. Thanks to all those who have been sticking with me on the challenge this year, has been great to have some interaction on the thread!!
@Matron_Midge I too have loved seeing the amount going up each week and tbh I haven't missed the money. I have to admit it was a YouTuber I follow who gave me the idea. She was also going to try £10 Tuesdays but that was a step too far for me! Great that you will use the cash for your festive food and drink - that's amazing. Would love to continue this next year so watch this space!!
Well done to everyone who is still on the challenge. Not too long to go and we will have completed the entire year - whoop.
Have a good weekend all

Morning one and all!
Another fiver into my pot this morning. Total now standing at £241.09 thanks to some interest applied - it all helps!
No current plans for this money as it's my independent savings ie. not included in our household savings. I've always retained an independent pot of cash just for me to do whatever I want with, so this will probably go towards hobbies next year.
In terms of Christmas food - Sainsbobs have half price beef joints (we got one for c.£15) and also large gammon joints for £10. They also had half a side of salmon for nectar price of £8.75. The beef and gammon will be for Christmas and salmon just to have. I believe Asda has offers on legs of lamb but haven't checked that out as not one particularly near me. We haven't had beef or lamb for months and months, so would like to take advantage whilst on offer.
Totals are updated to here.
Have a good weekend all.

#2 another £5 in the pot
thanks for the info on beef joints, I shall try get one and maybe a gammon. I’ll be trying to stretch my pot as far as poss. I don’t think our Christmas shop will use all my pot up as I’ve been picking up something most weeks with my “normal” weekly shop like cranberry sauce, the pudding or crackers etc.
My husband sorts the wine/beer/soft drinks and we have a hefty supply of spirits in already so the shop will be meats, cheeses and fresh produce. I am going to try and keep back at least £100 to roll into 2026 but we shall see. Interest will be added for me on 31/12 so I should get off to a good start if that works like my plan.

I’ve picked up a ham in sainsbobs- thanks coxy - it came out of my normal grocery shopping budget asi had a £9 off a £70 spend voucher. That means it cost me £1. My pot remains intact and I am thrilled.
I have another voucher for next week for another £9 off a £70 shop so will go and see what else I can get with my “free” money0
