Better nights sleep last night but still up at 4.30 so figure I can get some reading done. On my third book of the year with a to be read pile that threatens to fall over.

I treated myself to a guided journal this year. I’ve never journaled but always fancied it and so I used some survey earning to buy one on offer at £8. Four days in and I’m enjoying it so far.

Busy day today ferrying kids around to various activities. So will take my book and a flask of tea to keep me occupied. Weather looks a bit grim though.

Bit more decluttering and another 3 things out the house. An item of clothing and two unwanted Xmas gifts off to charity shop. 15/104

Second load of washing drying and I’m going to start looking at another goal of mine this year which is swapping out processed food for homemade. First up is butter. I’m going to attempt to make our own. I would like to buy a butter bell but figure it’s an allowable expense considering the money I’ll save in the long run.

If you buy proper butter (not spreads) then it will be about as processed as the stuff you make yourself - and I doubt it will be cheaper to make

We buy spreads and want to move to butter. I think it’s equivalent mostly to buying butter / making your own.

Surely it's just easier to switch to buying butter then?

I've made butter - it's lovely, but not really worth the effort.

I think for me it’s the process of knowing I made it. It’s really simple. I’m keen to use the buttermilk for cooking as well. It’s the first in a long list of things I want to change this year.
