Cashed out £8ish from TCB from some pre Christmas purchases.Had an order turn up today missing an item but no argument from the retailer and missing item being sent out today. Never had any issue with them before but customer service spot on.Mini top up shop today for some fresh veg. Cupboards practically back to normal apart from all the chocolate the kids got, but both have given some to the food bank which I dropped off today so sure their teeth will be grateful.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

£10 from shop&scan exchanged for am@zon voucher today. But also had to spend £500 on an invoice I knew was coming. Had the money ready to go but still don’t like seeing that much disappear out of the account. The time between Xmas and NY always feels like it drags but can’t believe it’s the last day of the year tomorrow. It’s not been the best for me at all but I have to take the positives and believe next year will be better.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Happy New Year to all.Slept straight through. Usually fireworks wake me up but maybe the weather forecast put people off. Blowing well out there but is supposed to calm down by lunchtime.Another roast dinner today. But also weighed myself and put on 2lb in December. With the numerous birthdays and Christmasness going on I’ll take that as a win!
Started off 2025 with a YouGov survey this morning. All other sites obviously quiet. Will post my 2025 goals later.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Happy New Year @debtfreeoneday! All the best for 2025 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!2 -
So goals for 2025. A lot more simpler than they used to be.
EF £6,520 / £10,000
Save Christmas food £50 / £500
Replace sofa £655.48 / £1298
Car Replacement £821.33 / £2500
Declutter 2 things from the house each week 0/104
Replace a lot of food choices with homemade alternatives. 0/20
The decluttering comes from a frustration at the amount of cleaning products we have both for the house and ourselves. Determined to get better at this, this year.
Mainly I just want to work on the emergency fund and have back up savings.

Aside from the goals I’ve felt a bit beaten today. We moved and downsized just over a year ago. The house is at times a pinch but we make it work for the 4 for us, cleaning is a breeze, expenditure has hugely reduced and it always feels homely and cosy. Cue a comment made by a family member as to how small it is, that people who live like this are strange little people living strange little lives. (From someone who had a huge mortgage in place until they are 70 and have house reno works ongoing to the tune of £100K I feel the irony. Very much believe in each to their own and all that but it’s just made me feel sad today. I know I shouldn’t and we are doing fine and have so much more freedom. Just wish people would keep their thoughts to themselves. Anyway. Onwards and upwards.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
