Yikes, three months have gone by. Life has been hectic. I’ve got back to work, a little earlier than anticipated - but the right job came up so I went for it.

So we are in a good position for the next 12 months when things will change again financially but i know being here keeps me focussed and motivates me so i am going to try again to be a bit more regular.

Ive set myself a challenge from 1 Nov. All free monies that I earn and can convert to cash will get put in a separate pot not to be spent.  Im going to do it for 14 months until the end of 2026 and see what i can earn.

Im also going to keep track of what other free money I earn just to see what 14 months looks like.

£2 cashback on a £10 spend today. Snaffled a Tesco gift card and got £2.25 payable immediately so have requested payout as already had £4 at payout. I won’t count any free money until it hits my bank so this’ll be a nice start to my free money pot.

Failed last night at buying a Christmas dec from Argus. Meant to pay with my nectar points and wasn’t paying attention so that slipped through on the credit card instead. Oops.

Also logged into my credit report this week to find FOUR credit cards that I didn’t know I still had / didn’t realise were still active. One hour later and they are all closed, with a bonus £9 heading my way that has sat in one credit card account in credit for 8 years! I just have one open bank account to tackle now which is MON-Zo who I absolutely hate. Just about to raise ombudsman complaints against them due to dreadful service and account issues. I need their final complaint outcome letters to be able to proceed. Everyone seems to love Mon-zo but I find the app clunky and so difficult to use

    I also didn't like Monzo.

Opened an account, transferred a small amount of money in, then thought better of it, as I didn't like the app /security arrangements so I took the money out again and closed the account down.

In total, from application to closure I was probably a customer of theirs for two weeks or less.

Always good to hear I’m not alone. Security was also a concern of mine! I got one of the final account letters yesterday so first complaint will go in this weekend.

Most comments I see about it love them. I just feel a complete technophobe with them and the being locked out for over a week was a nightmare.
