re the bed: not too keen myself but if Johnny Depp was beckoning me from it I might give it a go... it's the fluorescent light/perspex bit that puts me off. I know you don't like ikea but I'm sure they have similar cheaper.Mortgage OP 2025 £6750/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Blimey, SS, thats a nice bed. *With* a memory mattress.
Its so sweet that you're concerned about what to say to your mum. What did your older sibs say, can you remember? Bear in mind that a couple of years ago the TV and newspapers were full of the *horror* of having adult offspring living with parents into their twenties and thirties - I'm sure she won't mind, especially as you're planning it and not storming out.
I have this stupid image of you buying her a pot plant to replace you, so she can talk to it - sorry!
Parents want to see their kids grow up and move on, even if they don't quite realise it. Go for it (possibly with that pot plant).2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Well one thing I don't want to scrimp on is a nice bed. Love my sleep too much.
Oh and I don't want to scrimp on a TV either! :rotfl: Found a good one for a good price aswell though. The problem is the TV stand I like is £150! £150 for a tv stand! :rolleyes:0 -
I'm with you on the    for the TV stand! "You kids these days, you want it all".... yep, thats me, grumpy old woman incarnate! For the record, the thing that my tv sits on (along with huge old Wharfedale speakers for the modern hi fi, the hi fi itself, the satellite box, the dvd and a load of phone books and dvds, cost about £40 from Ikea. Mind you, its a dust collector, and it looks like carp.
you may have a point about getting a nice tv stand, SS! :rotfl:

looks and money?:p should I stop there...:D
The lights bit that just shows that we are all different but as a female I wouldn't be too worried what a bloke's bed looked like as long as the sheets were clean and the place was tidy. Blokes love gadgets though!
£150 for a tv stand... guess you're going to be spending a lot of time MBing!Mortgage OP 2025 £6750/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Hi SS
Haven't had a chance to come to your thread for a bit.
So
WELL DONE on the debt busting. That is such a lot to have paid off! I am seriously impressed.
Ref moving out. My only thought would be whether you want to wait until you are nearer being debt free? Say with £5k left to pay off?I think your mum will accept it when the time comes. This thing of revolving offspring, ie leaving home, coming back from uni, leaving home, coming back when a partnership doesn't work etc, is a very 90's thing. I think that you would do well to go at some point. Just have to pick your moment.
Re the bed, hmm well not really my style, so I think I will have to pass on your kind offer.......:D
And you KNOW that £150 for a tv stand is in the same realm as those car mats you bought........!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
