Ryanair Flight Change

Daveworcester said:This has just happened to me too. Flight time on their website changed, and in My Bookings on the app, but until they send an email they insist it could still return to the original time, and I can't do anything. It's pretty obvious it's not going back to the original time or why would they start selling tickets for the new time.
I accept that flight times can change (though it is annoying as I deliberately chose these flights as they were convenient times), but they've basically changed the time and don't have the courtesy or respect for their customers to let them make alternative arrangements or give them their money back. I don't know if other airlines do this, but it is enough for me not to use Ryanair again. What is the point of booking with them based on convenient flight times if they're going to do this?!
Ryanair have now put another flight on for 0545, but won't let us change to this one until we get the email. Any common sense company would let us change to that now.
I'm starting to learn my lesson, & book the flights less than 6 months before, but that is sometimes hard as the good hotel rooms have gone by then.0 -
6 months may not help you...depends on the timing. Airlines generally offer 2 timetables; summer and winter and they change when the clocks change and slots can be still being negotiated and agreed up to a few weeks before the start of the timetable.
Once you are close to the start of the new timetable (next one starts end March to end October) there are less likely to be changes. Next month you are likely pretty safe for schedules up to end October, last month only 'safe' up to end March0 -

weaswan said:I have a return flight booked with Ryanair for September 25. The Ryanair app is now indicating that the flights have been re-scheduled to some 8 and 11 hours later. I want a refund as the flights are no longer suitable. However I have not received an email from Ryanair confirming the change - this is what opens the door to getting a refund in Ryanair world. Ryanair are saying an over 5 hours entitles the customer to a refund - but as I have not received an email confirming the flight schedule may change again - maybe back to what they were or indeed any other time. They will therefore not provide a refund and will only confirm 120 days before the flight. So basically I'm left with a flight but I don't know what time it is departing. Ryanair's position is the app time is the current expected departure time - but it might change. And no refund until 120 days before the flight.
I've never come across this 120 day rule, maybe because I don't usually book so far in advance. Normally refunds are fairly straight forward for re-scheduled flights.
Any advice on this situation and whether this is covered by any legislation?1 -
I have now received an email from Ryanair formalising the flight changes. No surprise the flights are at the revised time. I've received the email 4 months before the flights.0

Remember that Ryanair do not do return flights, only singles each way. So if only one flight falls into the refundable category and the other doesn't you will only get a refund for one of the legs.0
