Well done on the no spending! Hope the ice improves soon. I'm lucky that I can WFH but I still have to go out for the school run.

Afternoon all, well the lurgy returned with a vengeance and I've been out of action the last few days. I've been in bed and not been able to do much I've felt so poorly. Think I'm turning a corner now so hopefully getting back on track. On the plus side I've not been able to go anywhere to spend any money so bank account is still intact.
Hope everyone is doing okay x2 -

Hi I saw your diary and it resonated with me, so I hope you don't mind me tagging along. We have a lot of Credit Card and other debt, and an ambitious 3 year plan to pay it all off. This is only going to work if we stop spending money on stuff we dont need.
I am 52 and do a very stressful but well paid job. Paying off the debts means I can do something less demanding and reduce my hours. It has to happen.
Today we went for a walk and bought coffee and cake in town. I am happy with that, particularly as we only bought a couple of essential items in the shops. I even stayed away from the charity shops.
Hope you start to feel much better soon!1 -

Thanks everyone, still don't feel 100% but feeling better than it did, this lurgy has really floored me.
Been back at work today so catching up on emails and getting back on track work wise - I hate being off!
Welcome to my diary @YORKSHIRELASS great to have more virtual friends to cheer each other on.
So, it's another 11 days until pay day, this month seems to have been the longest ever! I've been looking at the budget today and taking on board the advice that I've been given and I've decided to increase the money towards my EF to 300.00 a month, pay the Lloyds CC 300.00 - which means this will be paid off in 10 months time. I'm going to pay the minimum towards the BarclayCard as this has a longer 0%. Once the Lloyds CC has been paid I'll put this money towards the BarclayCard. It will leave me with about 400.00 in my every day account.
I think I've gone in too much too soon this month and left myself with very little flex in my every day account which has made me feel a bit fed up. I knew this would happen, but I almost had to do it to get it out of my system if that makes sense! So I'm giving myself a bit of slack this next payday. I think leaving a bit extra in my current account will make me feel a bit better. I'm not planning on spending it all, but just knowing it's there will make me feel a bit better if that makes sense, and any left I'll put towards the BarclayCard CC.
I don't have separate pots for bills, birthdays, holidays etc, I like to see everything in one place and know I've got money there for any extras that need to be paid.
I'm also thinking about getting a second job or doing some extra hours at work. I'm on the bank, but because I work full time already there's not much scope. I was doing a fair few Prolific studies before Christmas and made almost 50.00 but these seem to have dried up. I might investigate doing some remote work if I can find anything. Things to think about for the next few weeks.
Anyway, enough rambling for me! Going to catch up on everyone's diaries. Have a nice evening x
