Hi newbie here and and I have read the newbie thread on parking tickets but I just want something clarified as it involves IAS.
I received a PCN from Viking Solutions UK Ltd. Appealed as totally unware there was paid for parking at this site, no visible signs at the time (and it was dark). Upon receipt of the PCN I visited the area to take photos and noticed one tiny sign 16 feet up off the ground making it impossible to read (the writing was way too small, especially in darkness) and another sign around the corner and out of sight of the parking bays. No other signs stating private land or ticket machines etc. The second point is the PCN states a completely different road to the one the vehicle was parked on. And a third point, the sign that was around the corner from the parking states free parking, we arrived 15 minutes before free parking started and I read on the BP code of practice that there should be some grace considered?
Anyway I mentioned all this in the appeal and it was immediately rejected - I've not received a letter as to why - I just noticed it when I logged into paymypcn.net.
I read on the Newbie thread here, don't bother with appealing to IAS, don't do anything until court. As the thread is quite a few years old now, is this still the case?

The newbies sticky thread is up to date
Plan A is the best option here, it always is , so I wouldn't call it "not doing anything "
Otherwise its come back to this thread at the Letter of Claim stage, prior to any court claim ( MCOL. )1 -
Thanks for responding. I've had a look on land registry as to who the landowner is (I haven't paid the £7.00 to get the full details yet). However, the register states the land as the "Land the North Side of" Which is pretty much the same as Viking Solutions excuse for not stating the correct road name.
Surely the legal road name needs to be used and not just vague description of the plot, especially when the signs are vague too.0 -
I received a PCN from Viking Solutions UK Ltd.Ooh a new one! Please show us the front and back of the PCN (redact your data, refs & VRM). We can check its wording.
Also a photo of the signs please.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have the photos of the signs but I can't find where the pcn is, I'll have to ask my husband when he's home
This photo shows the road leading to the parking around the corner. The sign regarding parking as attached the little fence on the left, the driver did not see this as its on a blind bend and in a poorly lit area.

Close up of the photo on the fence. No one walked back this way when leaving the car, so it went unnoticed but this should have been placed at the parking bays.0 -
This is the parking lot and there is a sign on the wall on the left to the left of the photo.0 -
Terrible, obscure & unlit signage. Almost as if they don't want drivers to see it, LOL!
We need to see BOTH SIDES of the PCN too.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This is the sign on the wall, the photo was taken at standing height and I still couldn't read it as the writing is too small. The driver couldn't recall seeing any signs when they parked. However, when I went to take these photos the area is quite dark and none of the signs stand out as they should.2 -
How can you read the sign beside the double yellows without incurring a ticket for stopping on double yellows to tell you will incur a charge?
Assuming it says you can't. You'd need binoculars.2 -
Unfortunately we can't find the pcn.
Do I ask the parking firm for the landowner details or pay £7.00 and get them off land registry?
Also do I ask for the boundary to be clarified?0
