They are FTB so nothing to sell. The estate agent thinks that because they are FTB they have been scared by the results on the survey even though in her words 'there was nothing of concern on the survey'Flugelhorn said:OK - good that they the survey is OK but suspect that the buyers have come across some financial problems or are they also selling and having problems? - they must have been keen if they got the survey, so presume this has come up recently.
She said she is trying to get hold of her to discuss any issues.0 -
OP, we had 2 surveys on the house we sold, the first one was from the guy who pulled out - he just emailed it to the estate agent who passed it onto us, no buying it required. He said he pulled out due to survey issues, but there wasn't a huge amount of problems in it, plus we'd said we'd get anything fixed if needed. As it was, there was a bit of a damp issue in the cellar which we got sorted even though they'd pulled out.
The second was from the people who actually bought the house, who were happy to share it with us and we sent them a copy of the first survey. They were similar. It was a slightly scary story if you didn't know a bit about houses, but fortunately our second buyers knew what they were doing. I would just ask the buyer if they'd share the report with you, it's worthless to them.1 -
The estate agent could suggest they post their concerns on here . We get a lot of nervous FTB's !janoid19 said:

Good point! I think if they do confirm that they have pulled out 100% then I will ask if we can have the survey to make sure theres nothing crazy showing up that we didn't know about.Bigphil1474 said:OP, we had 2 surveys on the house we sold, the first one was from the guy who pulled out - he just emailed it to the estate agent who passed it onto us, no buying it required. Haha! I would love it if they came on here! I have found this forum so useful during our purchase as FTB 4 years ago and with this process. The estate agent could suggest they post their concerns on here . We get a lot of nervous FTB's !0 -
I'd be willing to bet they're using the survey as an excuse and that something else has happened. So sorry OP- it's such a nail-biting journey isn't it? If they have pulled out may it be third time lucky for you.

Yeah, It could be something like that. I think if she just came and said....'we've had a change in circumstance' or 'we have found somewhere else' then as much as it would be upsetting, at least it would take away the worry of something scary being on the survey.Skiddaw1 said:I'd be willing to bet they're using the survey as an excuse and that something else has happened. I am just stuck now waiting for the EA to get through to her and speak to her properly and get a decision, as if she's out, I want it back on the market as soon as.0 -
December's a dead month, but did you get the house relisted?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
The EA emailed at lunchtime to say she was trying to get touch with the buyer as she seemed to think it wasn't dead and buried but I'm not convinced.GDB2222 said:December's a dead month, but did you get the house relisted?
I've just told the EA that obviously I need confirmation as I need the house back on the market as soon as so we can try and salvage our purchase.0 -
Almost the exact same thing happened to me. Had a buyer who got cold feet the moment we found out dream house, then the next one couldn't get a mortgage, the next one pulled out and the one after finally completed! Stressful didn't cover it and we ended up having to buy our new house without selling our old one - missed all the cheap sub 1% rates and pay 5% now 😑
Life ey!! My only advice is try not to stress, it happens more than you think and there will be other houses should you lose this one
