Overstayed by 21mins

Hi all I’ve read the newbies thread and understand how to appeal. My q is ticket was paid for 2 hrs duration, I was not driving the vehicle, husband overstayed by 21mins due to my toddler hurting himself and we were busy taking care of him and did not realise we had overstayed our time limit.
Should I appeal by using the template outlined in the newbies thread, would I have a chance of successfully appealing?.
I’ve had a fine come through - usual to pay £100 if not paid within 14days.
Letter dated 20 nov 24, however I only received 2 days ago.
Tia for your responses x

CPM uk are not interested in any excuses,  regardless of the merits,  so wont cancel the PCN  ( not a fine  just an invoice from a private parking company  ) . Its insufficient payment for the time on site,  not an overstay.  So I have no idea why you or he would appeal   , on what legal grounds or basis could that possibly work  ?

But does that PCN comply with Pofa  ? Dates , times,  wording etc  ? Yes or No   ?

Plan A is the only real option here  ( edit,  if you were looking for a quick cancellation  ?  )

There's always 'ignore it' as a valid option.

Just making sure the OP knows not to pay it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Agreed,  no paying anything

I have added extra clarity to my last sentence,  because I believe that the OP wants a quick resolution at nil cost  ( but excuses wont wash with greedy profit driven parking companies   )

So if we ignore it they will eventually leave me alone.?? I cannot handle the stress of balif/ court letters coming through…

I did think that we would have no grounds to appeal as ultimately we overstayed!

Plan A being - complain to the retailer.?
  • So not to proceed with  B ?.

The retailer is not interested as they have a sign at the front saying the car park is private property and we should make required payment before entering their play area.

If it's a retail park, yes try plan A.

Otherwise sit tight. The letters are funny.

Nobody has mentioned anything about they will leave you alone,  they will send letters,  but not bailiffs,  Nobody will come around knocking,  definitely not

Yes complain to the retailer or landowner,  plan A   ( because you want it cancelled ASAP   )
