Forgot to say too...my landlord came round last week to have a look at the mould creeping across my bathroom ceiling. He brought an 'expert' with him, who says the whole bathroom ceiling has to come down!!
Apparently, the shower in the flat upstairs has been very slowly leaking and the artex (sp?) is sodden!
Poor landy will have to foot the bill for that one. He's waiting on a quote from the 'expert' so I will wait to hear more, not sure when the work will be done. At least I can have a shower at the gym, but I might have to put a potty in my bedroom :rotfl:

Well I went for my gym review this morning.
I was stood around waiting for 10 mins before the guy on the desk told me that there had been a shift swap and Simon wasn't there to see me
I asked him if I could go on the scales, cos I was all psyched up for it.

I'm not sure if he did it right, cos the first time I got weighed I was 4.4 lbs less than my home scales. This time it weighed me 0.8 lbs more  He also typed me in as 5 ft 4.5, when I told him I was 5 ft 4

Anyway, it says my body fat % is now 43.2 %, so a tentative drop of 3.7%. I've made another appointment for monday to see Simon, so will see what results he comes up with.

I suppose I should feel a little happier than I do, I think I was expecting a bigger drop. But then I don't really know how quickly fat turns to muscle. At least it's heading the right way, but more hard work ahead!

I am going in tonight for my final shift before my week off. I'm driving up to Calne tomorrow to see my friend who owns a pub, going to stay the night & have a drink or two (or 3 or 4) borracho.gif

I was asked if I could work Sunday morning, but as I'll be hungover, 160 miles away and on leave, surprisingly I said no! I have stuck myself in for a load of extra shifts for the next 4 weeks after I come back.
I'm going to enjoy this week off, then get back to hammering these debts!

Fat to muscle is a fairly slow process if it's done properly because it's a permanent change of mass. So I think you're doing really well :)

Enjoy your time off  Everyone needs a break now and again :D

    Thanks Gem.:D
I wasn't expecting it to have dropped to 20 % or anything, I wasn't really sure how quick it changes.
I think the reason I'm not completely happy with the result is because I was expecting a lenghty discussion about my progress with Simon, and basically hoping for a pat on the back and some praise, and instead I got a guy who handed me my printout, said "Well, it's gone down", smiled then walked out. If it had been Simon I'm sure he would have told me if 3.7 % is good progress or not. As it is I'm still not sure if I've worked hard enough.

It's childish really, but I guess everyone likes to be told 'well done', and hopefully I will get my praise when I see Simon on Monday. :D It's just a shame I will be seeing him after a weekend of drinking :rotfl:I very rarely get drunk, if I do drink it's at home & I only have a couple. The last time I had a good night out was my brothers birthday in October! I'm expecting to feel as sick as a dog the next morning as I know I won't be able to take it!

Sigh, I've been feeling a bit out of sorts lately.

I visited my friend on Saturday and had a great night, we ended up in a club in Swindon and I danced the night away. dance.gif He gave me a magic pink pill before I went to bed (ibuprofen I think), and I woke up the next morning without a hangover :D. I weighed myself on his bathroom scales and they weighed me a stone lighter than mine! I wanted to take them home with me :rotfl: . My mum lives down the road from my friend so I said my goodbyes & popped into mums for a scrummy roast s5oeat.gif

I've been on a downer since then, I had the week off but couldn't get the energy together to go to the gym. I've been naughty and only been once this week, (I didn't go on Monday and now Simon is away for a course for the whole of next week:rolleyes:) I've decided that I will have this week off and start afresh on Tuesday. I think I've burnt myself out.
I feel really guilty for not going, but am trying to tell myself at least I haven't given up completely, I deserve a little break.

On the money front I'm feeling a little down too, checking my budget it seems the pay off for the final loan keeps going back a month, it's looking like Julyish now. things keep popping up and I need to take stock and reign in the spending.
I have spent way too much on myself, like £40 in diesel to see my friend & my mum and £30 on the night out. Even today I spent £45 to see Meatloaf in June (he's playing in the local football grounds). It's not just the non-essentials either, I have Shadows booster due in May and MOT due end of May too.
I have very little on the credit card and am worried that I won't have enough if the car fails.
And the extra shifts I signed myself up for are a no go, I got into work the next day to a snotty note saying I wasn't allowed to work that many shifts! I sent him a sh*ty text telling him I need the extra cash & thought I was helping him out but not to worry. I took myself off all the extras (kinda cutting off my nose to spite my face:o) but it annoyed me that when they need me to cover it's ok that I am doing more shifts, but not when I volunteer!
I think I will concentrate on getting the credit limit down a bit, then tackle the loan in a few months time.

I'm a little happier today, as I'm back at work & my best friend is back from her holiday Manchester. Also my Dad is coming down for the weekend, I'm going out for a meal tonight with him, his girlfriend & my granma (more spending
) and I'm cooking roast pork for him tomorrow.

Good day today, I left work early to see my dad before he left. Not too upsetting cos he's coming back down for Granma's 70th in June.
I took Shadow out for a w.a.l.k after he left, went along the river in the sun, I even got my pasty white legs out & was wearing shorts.
Then I went to the gym, I enjoyed my first day back, and managed to run the full 15 minutes again for the 2nd time!
    treadmill.gif

Having put weight on again this week for the 2nd week in a row, I think I need to give myself a stern talking to & get myself back on track. I've decided to give myself 5 rules to help me day-to-day...
    1. No picking at food while cooking. i.e no slices of bread & butter.
    2. I must sit at the table to eat, and not infront of the tv.
    3. I will use a small plate for my dinner, to control my portion sizes.
    4. Knife & fork down between mouthfulls, instead of loading up for the next chomp:rolleyes:.
    5. Have at least 3 of my '5 a day'.

Hopefully this will help me back on track.

  • Hi raph

Dont beat yourself up about having some treats. You have done so well for so long a few weeks peace is just what the doc ordered. Also I would apply the same thinking about the weight. You have been amazing and yes a few weeks 'off' will be fine. Good to see you back on track though and a bit perkyer.

Nice to 'see' you back I love your motivation :A

glomp.gif Thanks Pap! I've looked at my 'break' from the gym like that. I felt guilty, but I told myself that I am not giving up completely. I went back refreshed yesterday and ran the full 15 mins, today I went again & ran 11:30 minutes out of the 15.
Also the last two days I have cycled further, today I reached 7.31 km in 15 minutes! My best record yet!
    exbike.gif

The first day of my new eating rules seems to have gone well. Today I have eaten ...
B ~ Toast (Wholemeal bread, marg)
L ~ Tuna salad (no mayo) & Pear
    Snack ~ Pear
    D ~ Chicken breast & salad.

The small dinner plate & eating slower seems to have worked. I couldn't finish my chicken breast, and have chopped it up to have with a salad for tomorrows lunch!!
I didn't sit at the table however, mainly because having been to the gym & taken poochy for a walk I didn't get to start dinner til 20:40. By the time it was done 'The Apprentice' was on!! :o
I did try to focus on the food going in my mouth, rather than blanking out infront of the screen, so far it seems to have gone ok.
I will probably have a piece of fruit later on (which will mean I've reached my 5 a day), and I'm enjoying a glass of wine at the moment. And it will stop at just one glass!! :D

    Hey all hallo.gif

Ran another full 15 minutes on the treadmill again today!! :T That's 3 times now. I seem to be recovering a lot quicker too.
I took Shadow out for her walk the other day, and on one route I take her there is a steep hill. I used to have to stop halfway up to catch my breath, but now I can get all the way to the top just panting slightly! Having lost almost 2 stone I'm really starting to feel healthier & see my body changing. I can't wait to see what I'm like when I lose the next 2 stone, I'll be running up that hill!
I've booked another appointment with the elusive Simon for Thursday, hopefully 3rd time lucky

I've realised I'm focusing too much on not being able to pay the last two debts off as soon as I want. Instead I should be patting myself on the back and reminding myself how much I have already accomplished. I'm not going to start easing up, but I am going to stop beating myself up.
