    Hi Laura,
Sorry its taken so long to answer, been having to do a few repairs around the house so as to do council exchange. Who would have thought moving could be so expensive before even getting around to packing. Didn't help that daughter had put her foot through one of the doors, days before my inspection and hadn't told me. Due for second inspection tomorrow which I hope to be passed on.

Finally got passed for my council exchange on 12th this month, now to just wait for the electrics to be tested, then full steam ahead.
Ordered some boxes on Monday after I was passed and they arrived this morning, so have been busy starting on my packing. Want as little to do as possible when the date to actually move comes.
Decided to do my moving costs via my CC, only way I can afford to move.
    #Costs so far have been
    £85.28 replacement of doors/unit.
    £89.00 for Removal boxes.
    £174.28 Total.

Hoping to find a decent removal firm for under or around £300.

oooooh nasty sorry not been around for a bit pen. I've done council exchange before and know its a horrible lengthly process.

As far as the removals are concerned do you drive?

It can be cheaper to just rent your own van.
Otherwise try the back of the free press and look for the man and van adverts, I used a removal company to get here and wished i'd never bothered. I cant remember which firm it was but I basically bidgeted 100 quid and rung round telling them all that. This company I ended up using did me a deal with a van and driver for 130 as long as i helped. That bit was fine but they squashed him in on a sat morning before another job so by 10 he had to run off-bit of a waste in the end.

Otherwise I might know a man with a transit thats out of work that might be able to help if you are interested? its my cousin, he's got a dodgy back and but would do it for a few quid let me know if your interested x Laura

Thanks Laura, well appreioate the offer, but since all my furniture is solid ready made super heavy stuff (bought to last a life time) and I weigh about 7st 6lb wet through, I need a firm that can do all the lifting and probably have one of them vans that has a lifty up and down tail bits. As well as full Insurance (my outstanding debt is all my furniture) Looks like I'm looking at region of £300 minimum. Will find out today when I do all my phone calls to get quotes.

Had electric check last Thursday and I am now just waiting for date to sign for exchange. Have gotten a social loan to help with costs of removal, so no interests to pay that way.
Already have rough plans for the new garden in my head. Veggi plot here I come.

Finally get my exchange on Wednesday, today the other property is officially in my name. Once I have moved will have to do a complete overall of my SOA as the utilities will probably be different, and with my youngest son moving back home my income has increased, but saw no benefit from it this month due to many extra costs that can be involved, such as skip hire to clear lots of old junk, bt line set up costs, moving boxes, yadda yadda yadda (bought boxes week before son moved back home though)
Will be starting a new diary for when I have moved, due to all financial changes and the change in area, as its a freshest start for me. On the day we do the exchange it will be exactly 15 weeks since we first put our forms in for an exchange. It has been stress full and expensive, but in the long run worth it all.
