Keep them - and charge people who want to keep chopping down trees to have copies of statements in paper rather than electronically.
Your efforts to stop trees being 'chopped down' might be more effective if you campaigned for the banning of printed books, newspapers and magazines, perhaps? Or is it just other people's choices when it comes to bank statements you have a problem with?

Some people need printed bank statements, and I'm sure most would be happy if they were printed on 100% recycled paper if it bothers other people so much.

If Barclays printed copy/normal statements on recycled paper that fine by me.

If they moved the statement printing to self service machines that would better or be able to view it on there!

But looks like you can’t get statements in branch unless you go to the back with a staff member or order it from branch!

Hopefully one day be able to order statements from the app or desktop site

You seem to spend a lot of time thinking about how to arrange copy statements but surely you're getting originals issued as a matter of course if you're preferring them to online ones?

    Yeah I am getting originals!

I haven’t ordered copy statements for ages, But Barclays are doing this to save money I bet! Have no clue what other reasons they would be making this change!

the people who don’t use the app or online banking will have to now call up for statements or order from branch!

But the people who don't use the app or online banking will be the ones getting originals sent out!

And why does it matter what Barclays' reason is for doing this?

You can't expect them to carry on offering a service that has such a small demand that keeps on falling. That would be like expecting Netflix to have VHS rental shopa.
