Barclays Statement Machines

Barclays are in the process of removing there Statement machines from branches where you could print bank statements there and then!
Now gotta get them posted or online!
Some Branches might be able to print them at short notice etc for good reason!
Anyone else use these machines!

Yes, I used one the other day and saw the notice saying the service was being withdrawn. But then as the branch itself is due to close it isn't going to make a great deal of difference.I'd guess for many customers it may work out cheaper to pay for copy statements to be posted rather than travelling to their nearest remaining branch.0

I think it cost Barclays allot of money to run that service!
understand if branch print of one off statements out the back for urgent reasons!
but if they start Charging for copy statements E.G £1 per page (sheet) Max £10 people would be happy to pay that if needed

Why would you want a paper copy when you can just use the app or online banking?2

I am just saying small minority still want paper copies & this service was useful to them!0

I agree! Some people hate online banking/app etcI prefer paper copies & some people need them urgently!
branches can still print them if needs be!0 -
I wonder if they're removing the standalone machines to just integrate the functionality into the main self-service banking machines?0

Keep them - and charge people who want to keep chopping down trees to have copies of statements in paper rather than electronically.
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Not everyone has online banking!
they would either move it to the self service Kiosk or do it as a one off round the back! What’s the harm in doing that?0
