Hello

My wife is one of many that have just received the first notification letter, ‘Notice of debt Recovery’ from DCBL.. This is from a parking offence alleged in 2019. Looking forward to going on the journey with everyone on this to win another one. Seen some amazing stories.

Since 2019, we have moved, therefore to confirm we should write to them using the template to erase all previous addresses at this point and wait for the next one?

We are based in England and the parking company is G24 Ltd

Thanks in Advance

Its not an offence, its for the alleged breach of the parking contract between the driver and the parking company on private property

Correct, email a Data Rectification Notice to the DPO at the parking company ( which Parking company is it. ?  )

The debt collectors letters tell you their clients details

Which nation is it in. ?

Scotland?  If so they are timed out:

If in E&W then there's another year to get past the limitation date so yes, your wife would  have to reply to tell them and the parking firm (both) to erase the old address.

    Thank you for the correction.

It was in G24, and in England, have up dated the main post.  We will email both G24 and DCBL.

We do not have a letter of claim or before claim, just a notice of debt recovery at this point.

    Many thanks

G24 have plenty of irons in the fire recently with DCBL and legal companies

Come back to this thread if you receive a Letter of Claim or a court claim pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL before the expiry date next year

The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with debt collector's letters, but to summarise that post - ignore them.

Thank you, will do, but will just deal with the address part as advised in the post.

Correct.  It is vital that parking firms and their bullyboy debt collectors are not left with a choice of 2 addresses.

........... and, of course, make sure that your V5C is also up-to-date.
  • Hello All

I have read the newbie thread and just wanted to confirm something.

I received the same letter ‘notice of debt recovery’ from DCBL and the client is G24 Ltd for a 2019 ‘contravention’

I sold the vehicle a few years ago but have not changed address at all.

Is there anything I need to do?

I’m in England and it’s only a few months away till it reaches 6 years

    Thanks

    Yep.

Read the other G24 2019 DCB threads.

Use delaying tactics by replying by email but VERY slowly (just after the deadline they give) to the letters asking for one piece of evidence. Ask for one thing then next reply, ask for another thing or ask another question.

Save the '30 day hold' tactic for the last reply to DCB Legal once the 6 year limitation deadline is about a month off. Do not mention the fact it's nearly timed out. No tipping them off to look!
