Old Storage Heater. Releasing too fast by early morning. 1 thing changed recently

That sounds like the convector heater (booster) element which occupies the full width of heater at the bottom (easily visible with the case removed) - it might just be dust burning off. In any case, this won't be in use very often when @OpolE gets the storage section working.OpolE said:
The lightning/flashing is literally seen all along the bottom on the parts that heat upPhones4Chris said:Yes, multimeter job. Check if off-peak mains power is getting to the terminals in the bottom of the heater, is it then getting to the thermostat input control.
I'm reckoning the input control thermostat part is broken.
Need make and model to source the correct internal parts if it's a problem inside the heater.

Where exactly is that coming from?

@OpolE if you manage to get hold of a cheap multimeter I'll gladly tell you where to stick it.

It even measures hfe (transistor gain) - not that the op will need that function!
True RMS as well.
The only drawback is that its not auto-ranging but you can't have everything for £9.99

What time of day did your electrician check for current on the E7 storage heater circuit? Note this will generally only be live during the E7 period (controlled by switched contactor box), so unless he checked it in the middle of the night, he will not get any current showing. :-)2

All my power is back in the right areas in the fuse box and is still working as normal. The start of the internal wire going into the heater heats up but it doesn't activate the other ones going into the node.As I was looking at why, parts were crumbling and just seem old as discussed before the day rate is flashing sparksSO I AM SOURCING A USED 2ND HAND ONE LOCALLY.There's 2 but one seller doesn't know the year for the DIMPLEX oneSo I have to work out visually if they post date the asbestos era.Dimplex was founded in the 1950'sPics below

The first one is pre-historic, you want the 2nd one, no question about that.1

I agree with @Phones4Chris, this is the one you want (incidentally, no asbestos in either of them).OpolE said:All my power is back in the right areas in the fuse box and is still working as normal.SO I AM SOURCING A USED 2ND HAND ONE LOCALLY.
Good to hear you are getting sorted out and thank you for the update.
