Ocean Parking - McDonald’s Wisemore

Hi, My daughter received a NTK through the post for a parking charge relating to McDonald’s in Walsall. She had been there around 50 mins and hadn’t realised there was a 20 mins max stay. No staff member mentioned this to her.
Having read the newbies thread and others we sent the appeal template off with evidence of custom, but don’t expect much.
Another thread mentioned providing evidence of custom means they should offer a reduced charge of £20. Is this correct?
also, as Ocean have now migrated to IPC I presume any further appeal is pointless?
I have added pics of what I believe to be POFA compliant NTK but with the IPC branding I’m unsure if this makes any difference?

Any advice for going forward will be greatly appreciated.

The £20 offer is for a major keying error , nothing to do with patronage
Plan A in the newbies sticky thread is the best option for a cancellation in this case ( managing agent or landowner complaint )
Chances are that Ocean Parking will reject the appeal
An IAS appeal is definitely pointless, the IAS will conclude that the PCN was issued correctly2 -
So basically just wait on the letters and hope they don’t go to the court route?0

No , plan A. !2

Just checking a detail. This is a 'sit down' McDonalds with a 20 min time limit ? One would barely get served in that time at some locations. Most seem to be a limit of 60 or 90 mins, hence why I ask.The pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.2

Yes, even has an upstairs seating area. Unsure how they can justify a 20min max stay??Trainerman said:Just checking a detail. This is a 'sit down' McDonalds with a 20 min time limit ? Is it likely they would ever take this further? I’ve seen some posts regarding PCC that never go to court?Coupon-mad said:After that, ignore them BUT TELL THEM IF YOU MOVE HOUSE WITHIN 6 YEARS.0 -
Ocean Parking have never tried litigation so we don't expect a court claim in your case. But the only way to be certain is to see and open every letter and NEVER leave a PPC with an old address in their database.
That's all.
Ignore £170 demands (don't show them to us).
Get on with your real life!

I would make that part of my complaint to McDonald's. I had a quick look at tripadvisor, and assuming this is the Walsall site, then there is a lot to interest and help with your complaint.villab0y said:

For example, if these statements can be verified, the signage is poor. Also, it seems that if you plan to stay longer than 20 mins then you should put you reg number into a tablet somewhere inside. Any signs to that effect? Member of staff tell you ??
IF you are expected to do this, then (in my opinion), Staff should be informing any one who intends to sit and dine, OR the place should plastered with signs to that effect. In the absence of both then I contend McDs are responsible for creating the problem, and you cannot reasonably be expected to comply with a condition that your were blissfully unaware ofThe pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.3
