I feel like I have missed something? OHU complaint? (I googled the abbreviation and came up with some very strange options.)
It’s a shame about the course. In terms of getting stuff printed to make it easier to ‘see’ (I’m like that) you could download it onto a stick and take it to a local print shop (the type that does takeaway menus and flyers for businesses) and get them to print it as they usually have digital printers. It won’t be cheap but it could be very effective as the quality should be quite good? I hope you come to a satisfactory conclusion with your counsellor on this one.Hugs for the worsening health of the family member. Have all the things that need to be said, been said?
I’m glad the half dose of meds seems to work better for you. You will share this with whoever the prescriber is? Might be a useful insight for them.Yaaay for the theatre trip with DS and girlfriend 😊 The hotel as a base sounds like a good idea.KKAs at 15.08.25:

Sorry about life being difficult - but - yay for theatre trip. Always nice to have something to look forwards too.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -

KK - I'm being messed about at work and have had a convo with HR and others about it. But the person who was due to resolve it now isn't in - so feel back to square one. To try and get some protection for myself I got some reasonable adjustments documented by OHU. I didn't take my adhd meds again today - but will try again tomorrow. I feel slightly less exhausted. I've started taking folate and vit D again as I can tell I'm low. I need to organise another blood test. I have counselling tomorrow and then work Tuesday onwards - but then the following week I'm not in the Monday or Tuesday.
It's difficult with the family member as they don't live close by etc...
I saw a beautiful (three part) display cabinet and a metal and glass console table on Friday at a CS and ordered them to be delivered Tuesday - £90 including delivery. That helped me get more focused on sorting the front room - and finishing the decorating in there. I should do the ceiling too really but have totally run out of steam so will try and put the room back to rights and tackle the ceiling at a future date.
The same CS with less than a week's notice could pick up some of my surplus furniture from the garage area - so thinking of emptying a couple of items and then booking a collection date. That would then allow me to displace some other stuff into the garage - either for use there or as part of a phased letting go of the items. Some things I am struggling to part with I got second hand for £10-20 each. Ridiculous I know especially as most of it would be easily replaced or even upgraded at relatively low cost, particularly if willing to go second-hand.
I slightly improved my main living area this weekend too as I hung a mirror back up and moved a couple of beautiful CS bargain mirrors I bought a while ago around. They look lovely and make the space feel bigger and brighter which is good. I also moved some stuff into the garage. The to-do list feels endless. I've asked a decluttering type person to come in a few weeks for 3 hours. If they are any good I may then book again but they are pricey I need help getting more organised and letting things go. I need my house to work for me more rather than for the guests who come a few times a year.
I did 2 drawings for my course and a zoom call today. I want to try and do a little painting before I go to bed tonight - as you do oil paints in layers and I'm finding it takes so long to dry I lose momentum. The call was reassuring as others are also struggling with fitting the amount of hours in needed for the course and with perfectionism. I didn't expect to feel such strong resistance to doing some of the activities - especially drawing. I really like the painting classes but many of the drawings we are being asked to do I have no interest in the subjects and then struggle to do them...
I have a Mr A delivery coming soon. I'm planning to have some veg soup for tea so looking forward to it turning up.
Hope all is good where you are. I'm so grateful for all the tulips I planted. I think I have over 60 in bloom currently which feels a huge win. One of my apple trees is flowering - I think the other died. I have some azaleas in flower too and grape hyacinth, blue and white anenome, pink love lies bleeding, laurel etc. The garden and particularly watching the birds brings me joy.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Decluttering, then adding well cleaned mirrors has such an impact doesn't it?
Glad you continue to get joy from birds, the garden and art.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks for explaining about the OHU. I’m glad the course call made you feel better. Did anyone else share their strategies for how to cope with the workload? My friend went to art college for a year when young and then dropped out. She also found it hard to do the work that didn’t interest her, but she finds she is still using the learnings she got from that time, including the exercises she really struggled with some 40 years later in her art now. I think, from what she said, it’s like it teaches you how to look at things that you wouldn’t normally and use things and techniques you wouldn’t normally try.All the flowers sound lovely. I’m glad because you put so much work into your garden last year 😊
I will be interested to hear how the declutterring consult goes and what you learn from it 😊

So true about making your house work for you and not for when you have guests. It sounds like you've made some good progress. Declutterer sounds like a good option for helping to get things organised, hope it works out.
It's always reassuring to know when others are struggling as well. Garden sounds lovely. I love listening to the birds here too, the dawn chorus this morning was lovely."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
