I am very much in the camp of paying someone to do something to avoid stress and often the need to buy the tools to do the actual job. You just have to find the right balance and prioritise what you need.
It is a shame it did not work out with the cleaning maybe you could try again to find someone who is not from an agency. I would ask the neighbours as often they like working close to home or several together to avoid travel.
Garage doors are a pain and the electric ones are so great. I have seen some that close up and down instead of up and over they look like ideal and save space inside too.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Thanks Lucielle, TG and DF1D.
I think the garage door will be around £1200 or more. We paid that quite a few years ago at our last house - but I think we failed to get 3 quotes and overpaid then. Lucielle - I miss the blue haired shriek too!
I was talking to my counsellor yesterday and realised today - I was happy for once. I have managed to retain my calm and mindfulness despite my return to work and despite looming family issues. So far at least. It may help (or not) that I feel less invested in work - and more invested in developing alternatives. I think I've given myself that invaluable quality of hope!
I made it to the chemist yesterday - the worst bit was getting off my 'estate'.
Mr A delivery came. It's helping with spend control - and given the snow and ice outside I'm impressed he made it - but obviously safer for me than going out.

Thanks Blackcats.
Having something that feels in my control helps. I have focused this week on trying to resolve things that nag at me. Eg. I have bought a usb mug warmer as otherwise my drinks constantly get cold. It's due to arrive tomorrow. I also have a joiner coming to quote.
After my day job I designed a potential logo for my new business. I'm focusing on branding in this coming week. I am determined to create new, ideally passive income. I want to take at least one action every day that moves my vision forwards. I don't want to lose momentum so plan to have mini launches / trials of different ideas.
I had a go at t-shirt designs this evening. They can be entirely passive income once uploaded. I used a design site I already know well and can then in theory upload them to Am and other sites and they do all the rest of work for me. I'd then get £1-2 per item sold.

This is all sounding really good. Well done on the logo and the tshirts 😊
I like the idea of aiming for one action per day that moves your vision forward - I will be ‘stealing’ this 🤩

Thanks KK, Lucielle, Beanie and @Alchemilla
Welcome back Alchemilla - you've had a lot going on - it's allowed!
I am currently reviewing my money journey - in the context of this potential channel launch - and it's definitely been a bumpy ride at times and we made loads of classic errors. Ah well... I'm also noticing that I still beat myself up over £ even now I'm doing so much better and need to stop.
I spent a lot of yesterday on t-shirt design and potential blog posts - and thinking about what would be unique about my approach. I am struggling to find the right balance between being authentic and over-sharing so will take some time to think that through. I am also increasingly realising that I learn by doing - and while I'll have a vision / high level plan - in my personal life - I either over analyse to the point of paralysis or I just go for it on impulse. I need to find a happier balance between the two.
I've been trying to work out whether I most want to do art - and therefore videos about art - or whether I'd rather use my art to support my discussions on £. Still working through that one!! The latter is likely to be better paid which feeds into my decision - as if my goal is to create new future passive income - ones that are more sought after will take more work but are likely to pay better. However, today I made very simple art - and had a go at videoing that to see how it worked. At least it gives me material I can use later if desired - but I think I'm more likely to put them on fast forward and set them to music than play them as is!
