PADs looking good. Do they still go to your mortgage. It's like paying an extra months worth each year when you add them up isn't it. Well doneJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

At the moment, they are split between my CC which has things like the boiler etc on it at 0% and savings as I want to build up my savings (and savings are a higher interest rate than the mortgage at the moment). I do round up my mortgage payment to the nearest £100 each month, so it's still getting a roughly £35 overpayment per month, and I send the odd bit there as well.

Yes good idea to savings. I follow someone on another thread who has money set aside to pay off the mortgage when their fixed rate ends. The interest on their savings is amazing each month. When it's a little bit every day you don't seem to miss it as much either do you. Then it builds up quick.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

I don't miss those extra little payments at all, and it's amazing how it adds up!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -

Happy holidays! It's nice to be off for the week. We have the dentist next week, and also little miss's ASD assessment, so not all fun. I'm sure we'll do other things too, though I'd quite like some time to chill at home.
I spent some time yesterday tidying around, did a bit more in the garden (it's starting to look better now!), and working through DH's stuff to register as a creditor. I worked through his contract and work handbook, and also the online guidance and am happy that I've got to the correct figure. Various online calculators gave me the same result as I calculated so that was reassuring. We've posted it all off this morning special delivery. I'm guessing we'll have to do it all again when we have to apply to the govt for the payments, so at least I've got everything to hand now. Thank you to the lovely MSEr who offered to be a second pair of eyes as well, I love the support from the people on this site 😍
Little jwil had a sleepover at his friends last night, so we didn't really do anything today as we were waiting to collect him. DH has had a flurry of enthusiasm for sorting through the kids toys that have been waiting for a long time, so hence me updating the declutter list in the hope of adding a lot more to itI have a few things that I should be doing as well this week.
We sold one of the kids bikes this week. DH and I were supposed to be sharing the proceeds towards the replacement bikes we bought previously. DH gave me his half so I've sent the £100 to PBs."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
