It would have been Thursday, so it's very nice to have everything gone straight after Christmas!PennysIntoPounds said:Hark at you with a Saturday recycling day! 😁
Glad the place is feeling in order, enjoy your chill time
Thank youWanna_Bee_Free said:Congrats on the amazing PAD totals and your recycling clean slate. Our rubbish and recycling leave today too. I am very excited, which is really sad. Unusual to collect on a Sunday due to Christmas but I am happy.
Enjoy your book!
I think we're still a couple of weeks away for rubbish (it's 3 weekly here) but we haven't produced much extra, and only tend to put out one black bag anyway, so it's not a problem. We did have a lot of recycling though! It is exciting to see it all gone

I'm feeling a bit more human today thankfully! We went to get a bit of shopping this morning, and I got a couple of packets of 5% mince reduced to half price, so they've gone in the freezer. I'm pleased with that, as mince has got so expensive!
The leftover Christmas veg was 'reduced' to 33p - more than it was originally selling for! 🤷♀️ I got some reduced salad stuff as well.
We had a ploughman's style lunch today using up the last of the meat and some of the cheese etc. I think next year I'll get slightly smaller joints so we just have enough for a couple of days."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I agree mince has got very expensive.
I also agree about slightly smaller joints. I did a leg of lamb that was in the oven for 4 hours (Greek style) if it was smaller I could have put it in the slow cooker...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. The time after Christmas and before New Year seams to be going on for ever this year! I agree with the smaller joints, feels like we have been eating turkey for weeks.
Well done on getting the mince, I only buy now when I see it reduced.

Same Doris, in fact I hardly ever buy meat protein unless it is reduced now...Doris17 said:

I very rarely see decent reductions here, so I have no choice but to buy it, but I try and use less and pad it out a bit.Doris17 said:The time after Christmas and before New Year seams to be going on for ever this year! I'm liking the timing of Christmas this year, we got all the busyness out of the way last week, and a nice lazy week this week with no pressures. We don't do anything for new year celebrations-wise.
It's felt like I haven't had a comfortable night for weeks what with my knee and then this cold/cough. It's improving so hopefully will be gone soon.
We went in town this morning to have a look around the sales (and more to get everyone out of the house for a bit!). There didn't seem to be much around, so nothing really spent. I did buy a reduced gift set of smellies.
I've booked for us all to go bowling tomorrow as the kids had been asking. Annoyingly in the time between me looking at availability this morning, and then booking at lunchtime, the price had increased by £5! I had a 50% off voucher though. Our friends might join us, but we won't know til tomorrow. If they don't come, then the kids will be able to have extra goes.
I'm back on eating on plan today where I can. There are still lots of goodies around but if I make sure I'm eating properly at mealtimes, then it will limit the damage.
DH sold a few items yesterday, so they have been packed and posted, and the used wrapping paper pile is already reducing
