I've just found my plans for 2024:
Money- Increasing savings is my priority to build resilience - did but then spent a lot on doing the house, still positive overall.
- Tracking spending daily - done and so pleased about this
- Continue PADs - done
- Keep up to date with surveys - could have done better
Health- Work on my mental health - my posts from this time last year show I was very anxious, and that continued on and off for most of the year. I'm feeling better at the moment which is good.
- Walk to school more consistently - it's exercise without needing to find time for it! - not enough of this
- Continue with time restricted eating - 9am-7pm - I've mostly been doing this but have slipped somewhat recently. - I rarely eat in the evening, but sometimes have earlier breakfast
- Exercise 'snacking' - try and remember to move around more throughout the day, particularly after meals and when working. Little 'snacks' of even 1-2 mins will be a good start to build on. - need to focus more on this
- My focus will be on decluttering and deep cleaning. With my aim to increase savings, I don't plan to do any work on the house unless the need arises or a good opportunity comes up (i.e. we clear lots of space). - Plans changed when bathroom replacement became more urgent. This led to also getting more rewiring done, and some plastering. Decluttering not great, and deep cleaning not great.
- Tidying the garden - some progress, more to do
- Getting out and about regularly - done this
- Hopefully keep my job! (and DH to keep his) - by the skin of my teeth! (Hopefully!)
- Slow down, and live a simpler life with less stuff. - work in progress

Well done on your achievements over the year.

I've done a bit of tidying around this afternoon, mixed with some chilling. Little miss was at a friends this morning so I went out to breakfast with little jwil. It was nice.
I've been having a skim back through my diary from last year, and it's evident that the whole year was overshadowed by work worries, high levels of anxiety and poor sleeping. Every time I tried to take some time out, something happened to stop it - Easter the cat was unwell and we lost her, followed rapidly by the dog getting ill with Kennel cough, Summer - the bathroom replacement and electrical work happened, October half term - I found out my job was going to be made redundant, and even Christmas, we seem to have been meeting people all the time - which is nice, but I do want some recovery time. Hopefully during my time off in January!
Despite all that, I'm quite pleased with how much we achieved.
Hopefully this year will be a little calmer. I'm in a much better place mentally at the moment, and long may it last. I feel like I'm climbing out of a big black hole, and feeling a bit more of my mojo returning. Fingers crossed it stays like that. I hope I'll get some job certainty soon (probably another month or so) and then hopefully things can move forward for now."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
