Happy Monday!
DH is back to work and we were meant to be meeting friends today to go bowling, but they've cancelled. I think the kids will still want to go though so we probably will. It's half price if we go early, so I'm just waiting for little jwil to arise so I can check with him.
I want to do the financial round up today, as it's payday tomorrow. One of my DMP debts wants a review so I'll do that and send an update to both.
3 items sold yesterday so the use up of the Christmas paper and boxes has started. Whilst in the cupboard I did the electric meter reading, so will need to get the gas one as well before the prices go up.
I also need to phone the sofa company to see if we can get these sofa/chair or whether I need to cancel the order. I'm hoping not."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney6 -
We're back from bowling and got that half price so that was good. I took the opportunity to get some more change when there as well (getting some £1 coins from the arcades) so that tops up my change purse. It comes in handy for parking and also a lot of school stuff is still cash only.
We came back via the supermarket to get some bread rolls, and managed to avoid too much in the way of temptation.
I've spent an hour on the phone to the sofa company, spoke to various people (who also spoke to various other people) and have finally come away with confirmation that they will be able to get the sofas in, hurrah! So at least we don't need to start looking again now. They offered to deliver one earlier, but I said I'd wait for them both to arrive at once as it will be enough of a challenge to get everything moved once, let alone twice.
I'm making soup for lunch as I want something lighter. The kids are having their usual. I've been doing a bit of sorting this morning, but not loads. I'm going to chill this afternoon I think."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney6 -
Glad you got the sofas ordered okay.

Oh that's annoying about the sofa dimensions, hope you get it sorted, it sounds lovely. My neighbour had a new sofa delivered before Christmas and had to have the lounge window taken out to fit it through....
Isn't it great when you have a good clear out and get sorted, good reset for the new year.
Won't you be tempted to eat the chocolates and goodies if they're in the cupboards? I'm terrible and have no self control, if I've got a treat in the house I end up eating it all at once, I'm such a pig!2 -

I will definitely eat the goodies, I'm resigned to it and am not going to sweat it. I don't eat the kids or DH's though so they don't tempt me. I will just try and eat better generally so I'm slightly balanced"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney4 -
Ahh at least you've got another access point in, I have to say I was a bit concerned watching my neighbour as they pushed and pulled the sofa through the window....
I've taken all my chocolates into work, I know I'll just eat them all. The only thing I have saved is a box of mince pies and I'm going to ration them, allowing myself 1 a day!1 -
I've updated my financial spreadsheet for the year. Some highlights:
My DMP debts reduced by £420
The mortgage reduced by £5695
Credit card increased slightly so need to focus on clearing that before 0% ends
Savings increased by £2907 but most of this is inaccessible (LISA, AVC) Small increase on accessible savings of £575 which is good considering we spent a lot of savings on the bathroom, plastering and electrical work
I've updated my spending spreadsheet too, but won't finish that until after tomorrow so I can get a complete picture of my spending over the year.
I've set up new spreadsheets for next year as well."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney7 -
