I think you said you had eaten chocolate the evening before your your blood test. That would have raised your blood sugar reading. I had a similar thing for my blood test at the beginning of the year as had been drinking wine the night before. When I had my retest a couple of weeks ago my reading was down by 0.6 so I still have pre diabetic figures but at least it has come down over the previous 6 months. Hopefully it will reduce further by the time I have to have another test.

I am also surprised by your blood results being similar to last year.
I hope DH finds something suitable soon. I'm sure he will.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

What a disappointment about the blood tests. My friend is having similar issues despite losing weight, healthy eating and cutting right back on alcohol. You seem to be doing everything right so hopefully things will improve by the next test.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Has DH had any annual leave from the agency. Last time I did agency work you either accrued leave to take when you wanted or they factored it in and gave you a slightly higher rate each week. It might be worth asking the agency. I remember every two or three months booking 6 or 7 hrs leave to have a week off (I used to just do a smaller shift each weekend as one of my extra jobs at the time ) if he's got any then he can have a rest next week and see what happens the week after. Try not to worry too much about the bloods. You are feeling better on yourself and that's what counts. And yeah the chocolate may have tipped itJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

That's interesting - when I was diagnosed as having pre-diabetes, I asked whether the chocolate I'd eaten on the day of the blood test would have impacted it (I didn't know I was going to have bloods taken). They told me that it wouldn't make a difference as it's an average of the last 12 weeks. Glad yours has gone down though, and hopefully mine will next time!joedenise said:I think you said you had eaten chocolate the evening before your your blood test. Thank you, I would have liked even a small drop in number! I'm sure DH will find something, it's a shame as these hours worked quite well.doingitanyway said:I am also surprised by your blood results being similar to last year.

Thank you, I half hope he'd be able to get back where he was if it picks up, it was quite convenient.pennywisepoundstupid said:Sorry to hear about DH job, hopefully things will pick up."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Yes he has, he took 2 weeks off in the summer, so I think he'll have used all his accrued leave. I'm hoping he'll just wait a week and see what happens, but he worries about not working so he won't want to wait too long.NeverendingDMP said:Has DH had any annual leave from the agency. It would be nice to think the chocolate tipped it! I am definitely feeling better though."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4
