Good afternoon! 😊 I’m running a big report on my laptop and it’s taking ages so I thought I’d jump on 😁
I was meant to go into the office today but the local police Facebook page posted asking people to only travel if necessary due to the storm and floods, and they listed some roads that were closed and one of them was the road where my office is based. So I spent a good 20 minutes trying to contact my colleagues to let them know and even sent out an e-mail to the whole office so no-one had a wasted journey, but then 2 of the directors responded saying they were in the office and the roads were fine 🙄 So I felt like a bit of an idiot but I was only trying to help. A few people reached out to thank me and could see I was just trying to do everyone a favour and I was only the messenger!
Received a text from Yodel saying my parcel was ready to be collected (DD2’s Christmas jumper) so I walked up at lunchtime but the lady couldn’t find it. She started blaming Yodel but then admitted she could see they’d received it 3 hours ago… so I’m not sure why she was blaming Yodel! She asked me to go back tomorrow.
I then power walked to the Post Office to post a birthday card to my friend and then nipped up to Aldi to get a couple of bits I needed. Went home and had some lunch and then remembered I needed to pay for DD2’s Christmas dinner for school, so transferred the money over for that. All in all it’s been a LSD which is good because I have very little money and I don’t want to use the credit cards!
Took advantage of working from home by washing all the towels and the kids’ pyjamas from last night so I’m officially up to date with all my washing 😇
DD1 finishes school later on a Monday but it’ll be almost dark by the time she gets out so I plan on picking her up so she’s not walking home alone in the dark. DD2 will get collected by the childminder as she’s still at primary school and then her dad will pick her up from there when he finishes work, so I just need to feed DD1 today and then will drop her off at her dad’s house as the girls stay with him on Monday nights usually. She’d usually just go straight to her dad’s house but he’s got some tradesmen round and we don’t want her there alone with them so she can stay with me and have her dinner here 😊1 -
Oh my goooooodness, what a day!
I went to the office and it was just back to back meetings this morning. By the time they were done it was lunchtime and then I spent the rest of the day trying to catch up on my e-mails. My inbox still looks disgusting but that’s tomorrow’s problem 🤣
The girls’ dad transferred me his half of the November spends and I spent it all in Tesco on the way home 🙈 I need some more decaf coffee but Aldi had none yesterday and Tesco didn’t have the big jar that’s currently on offer so I might try a different shop tomorrow. Nevertheless we now have enough food to last until pay day! 3 days to go.
I spoke to the girls when I got home from work and DD2 was crying because she was getting ready for her school disco and she had ‘nothing to wear’ 😂 This girl has more clothes than a department store so she was just being a typical drama queen lol. She calmed down once I told her to get her new sparkly Christmas earrings in 😊
I was meant to be going to a body pump class tonight but they called me while I was at work to say the instructor had called in sick. I wasn’t too gutted about it I must admit 🤭

Eeeeeek I’ve just seen my hair extensions that I was due to buy in January were on offer, so instead of £205.99 for 2 packs it was £164.78 😀 Then the website said if I gave them my e-mail address for marketing purposes I could get another 10% off so it came to £148.31 😀😀 That’s a saving of £57.68 😀😀😀 Plus I got £3.71 cashback.
I did have to use my Klarna account to buy them as I’m skinto but it seemed silly to wait until I’d been paid and risk the price going up when I can just clear the Klarna balance on pay day. So I’ll pay it off as soon as I’m paid and I won’t include it in my £600.00 challenge 😉
I have decided I will pay the £57.68 saving towards my Next account once I’ve been paid 😊
Time to watch I’m A Celebrity which is my guilty pleasure lol.1 -
I’ve just done 2 NSDs in a row. I had no choice really as there’s only £8.14 in my bank account 😂 Thank goodness it’s pay day tomorrow!
Work has been so busy but I at least had a night off cooking tonight as my mum invited us over for dinner. She did a very nice roast 👌🏼
DD1 had the day off school today and will also be off tomorrow - her school decided to have their training days this week 🤔 So she’s been out with my mum today whilst I worked from home 😊
Cant wait for bedtime, I’m shattered 😂1 -
I finally have money again! 😂
I have paid the childminder for this month and sent the invoice to Universal Credit so they can reimburse me for most of it next month.
I have also taken advantage of the Black Friday offers and bought my shampoo & conditioner (not cheap but it lasts me a long time and it’s good for my hair) as I’m almost out, plus my pressed powder which I ran out weeks ago but I’ve been waiting patiently until it’s on offer before I repurchased 😇 Got 15% Cashback too!
My mum is picking up DD1 shortly so I can crack on with my work. Determined to clear my horrendous inbox by the end of the day! I also need to nip up the shop at lunchtime to finally collect DD2’s Christmas jumper - hopefully they’ll find it this time.I’m so glad it’s Friday - I’m exhausted and need a lot of sleep this weekend 😆1 -
My hair extensions got delivered today so I cleared the Klarna account 😊 So now it’s back to zero!
Collected DD2’s Christmas jumper but the woman who served me was so miserable and told me in a stressed tone that she didn’t want to go looking for my parcel as she was too busy and had a lot to do 🤣 I wished her a lovely day when I left. She was obviously having a bad day 😬
My mum invited us round for dinner again tonight and it was a mad house - both of my brothers were there, plus my youngest brother’s fiancée and my little nephew 🥰 It was a very nice evening but I had to get home to put fresh bed sheets on the kids’ bunk beds which is the worst job ever and it takes me so long to do! I’m glad it’s done.
DD1 needs football boots for PE 😤 It makes me so mad as she won’t be wearing them other than her PE lessons so it’s money I don’t want to spend, but needs must I suppose. Found a pair on Vinted so I’ve ordered them. Total cost was £11.39 and I plan on putting them back on Vinted as soon as she’s finished with them 🤭1 -
Had a lovely day today as DD2 was performing in her school choir again, this time in the town centre for the annual Christmas lights switch on event. She loved it and did very well. I was watching her with DD1, my ex, my parents, my youngest brother & his fiancée so she had quite a lot of support in the crowd 😊
Before her performance we looked around the shops as she wanted to spend some of her pocket money on Christmas earrings for her to wear during the performance. DD1 also wanted to get a birthday present & a card for her friend (she chose a 29p card - that’s my girl 😂) and I finally got the big jar of decaf coffee I’d been trying to get all week. I got it from B&M in the end as it was cheaper there than my supermarket and any of the other shops.
Also treated us to some sugary snacks for when we watched our favourite programme tonight 😁
Tomorrow is December which means I can start shaving off some of this debt 😁1 -
I’m taking a break from scrubbing my flat so thought I’d jump on!
Sent the hair extensions saving to my Next account so the December challenge has officially begun ☺️ £57.68/£600.00
Did the food shop this morning after dropping the girls off at their dad’s and spent £72.54, but that included a lot of things for the cupboards that will probably last weeks. I also filled up the car as the tank was getting empty. I’ve been driving for 20 years and I still hate the job of putting petrol in my car 😂
My bathroom is smelling very lemony and fresh so I’m now going to tackle the living room as it’s a tip! I’ve got my 2nd wash of the day on and once it’s done it’ll mean I’m completely up-to-date with my washing 🥳 Definitely need to celebrate this as it’s a rare occasion lol.
