  • Storm Bert is (sort of) behaving himself here compared to other areas of the country, but it’s still pretty windy and it’s currently raining, so I’m glad I don’t need to go out until this evening 😂 I’ve cleaned the bathroom and put some lemon-smelling cleaner in the washing machine 😁 Will tackle the kitchen next and get it sparkling again.

I realised I hadn’t watched anything on Netflix in months so decided to cancel the subscription. I was only paying £4.99 a month but no point paying it if I’m not using it. I can continue using it until 11th December but I doubt I will - there’s never anything on there I like 😂 Bring back Power 🤣

The food last night was so so good and it came in under budget ☺️ It was really nice catching up with my friends and I was home by 10:30pm. I’m out for dinner again tonight - this time it’s a Christmas meal 😁 The first one of the year! Told my friends I’d drive as I’m not much of a drinker anyway.

I went to the supermarket during my lunchbreak yesterday to get some things for the girls’ lunches next week and milk, toilet roll & other bits we were low on. Spent just over £50 🤯 I honestly think the kids’ lunches are my biggest food expense! Paying for a hot meal at school would be cheaper but neither of them want that. Will have to get creative and find other ways to keep the costs down.
  • Can I suggest that you give the Netflix saving a set purpose? Otherwise it’ll just evaporate

  • The bill increases next year will be more than £4.99 a month so it can go towards that 😂 My council tax and service charge bills will definitely increase as they always do 🙄

I’ve paid off my Klarna account 😊 It was only £25.00 but it’s a step in the right direction!
  • Hi just wanted to say well done, I am going to follow and cheer you on.  I have exactly the same problem, hubby and I have big debts and we have come up with a 3 year plan to pay them off, but that depends on me not frittering money away and I find that really hard!!

I have more clothes than I could ever wear, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to buy more.  I have tried many times to stop buying stuff but it doesn't last for long.  Maybe 2025 could the year that we crack this, stick to a budget and clear a big chunk of the debts!!!
  • Hi @YORKSHIRELASS 😃 I hear you! Clothes shopping is definitely a weakness of mine 😂 I’m sure you’ll clear your debts, you sound determined! Do you have a diary?

Well last night didn’t go to plan at all, though we found the night hilarious 😂 The restaurant said we couldn’t have the Christmas dinner as we hadn’t chosen that option when we booked the table. I said the option wasn’t there when I booked it (September) otherwise I would’ve done. They then seated us at a very small table in the corner by the door which made things worse so we decided to stay for one drink & then eat somewhere else. By the time we ate it was about 9:30pm-10:00pm so quite late but the food was amazing and we had a good laugh.

On our way home I noticed I couldn’t see well at all and it looked like my car lights weren’t on. I pulled over to check and they were on but they definitely weren’t bright enough so I had to full beam it home through the storm 😖 which wasn’t fun! Will ask my dad to have a look today, or maybe my ex when he drops off the girls this morning.

The meal came under budget because we only had time for one course 😂 every cloud! Will spend the amount I saved on a costume for DD2 as she needs to dress up at school soon for Anglo Saxon day.

Is the car starting ok? If it is turning over then it sounds like there is enough power. If everything checks out then it could be that the bulbs are going off with age or the plastic lamp covers are cloudy. Both quick fixes. I have used Osram bulbs with +150 or +200 ratings in the past. Better light but slightly shorter life. Easy to buy from Euro Car Parts

If fitting is a pain you can buy ultralife versions
  • my thought would be to wipe the lights as bad weather can leave them filthy

  • My dad has had a look and he thinks the low beam fuse has blown 🙃

The Christmas tree is up! 😍 It looks so pretty.

Decided to set myself a mini target and I’m going to try and pay off £600.00 by the end of this year, so just over 5 weeks to go. It’s going to be tight but I like a challenge!

You'd think fuses going would be common and both bulbs failing at the same time unlikely.

However, i've never had the first happen and I have had the second!
  • Well my dad was wrong 😂 Went to Halfords and the guy checked and said both bulbs had gone. Weird they went at the same time but at least they’ve been replaced now.

My bank account is crying 🤣 5 days until pay day… I can do this.

The girls want chicken fajitas tonight so that’s what we’re having 😊 DD1 has been doing her French homework since we got home. She’s currently got the most homework points out of everyone in the whole school as she’s trying to win an Amazon voucher 😁

Just put fresh bedsheets on 😍 blissssss
