It’s pay day! FINALLY! Yesterday I was constantly checking the account and updating OH with the balance so we didn’t go overdrawn 🤣 I’ve just spent about an hour updating the budget spreadsheet and paying some things, such as DD2’s performing arts classes for next term, and a little holiday clothes order for me 🙊 They had a sale on and it was stuff I’ve had my eye on for a while 😍 My ex has also transferred money for what he owes me for the girls.

I need to sit down with OH so we can decide what to put towards the various savings pots but I think we need to start putting money aside for Christmas presents now, as we have a lot of people to buy for, and I want to overpay the mortgage even if it’s just £200. Obviously we need to decide what to pay off the credit card too.

I’m off work today but I’m not sure what we’re doing yet. OH is currently at work and he’ll pick up DSD on his way home, so he won’t be here for a while. My 2 girls are still in bed. We need to go food shopping desperately and my car needs petrol as the light is about to come on.

I went to the hygienist yesterday so my teeth are now squeaky clean 😁 I absolutely hate going but I’m petrified of gum disease and losing my teeth so I go 🤣 At one point she looked at me and sarcastically said “I can tell you are loving this!” 🤣🤣

I’m going to get into the shower now and get myself dressed. Have a good day! x

Another couple of hot days done & dusted! I think it’s going to start getting cooler now, which isn’t a bad thing. My skin will be grateful, as well as my straw-like hair 🤣

Yesterday we went to a country park for a nice walk, and today we went to a summer festival where they had a monster truck show, rides, live music and inflatables. It was a lot of fun but we’re all very sleepy now! We had a lovely bbq when we got home and then we all had showers, so we’re back to feeling nice & clean again instead of covered in suncream and sweat 🥵🤣

I am officially the lightest I’ve been all year! It’s taken a long time to shift half a stone (5 months to be exact, eeeek) but it’s because I’d lose a bit, then put it back on (repeat 10 times 🤣). I’m finally being consistent with my food and exercise though, and thankfully it doesn’t feel difficult at all. I will admit that the warm weather has helped, as my appetite usually dips when it’s hot, but still, I feel like I’m on a roll now 🙂

I have developed a new addiction though… ice cold lattes 😍😍 Every morning I get excited because I can have a glass of cold coffee and it’s soooo so nice! I need to find a good decaf one though because I don’t like having too much caffeine.

I’ve transferred £400.00 into my savings account, which is all being allocated to Christmas presents. It’ll be nice to not get into debt over Christmas! Especially as gift giving is my love language and I tend to spend too much 🙈

We have received the paperwork from our solicitors for the transfer of equity so we will sign the relevant forms and then either post them back to them on Monday or drop them off. Hopefully then it can all go through 🙏🏼

And finally, some really exciting news I need to share with you all. We have a new kettle and toaster! Yay! OH had a hot water dispenser before and it just wasn’t practical so now we can boil more water faster. I’m thrilled 🤣 We had to get a matching set of course. All budgeted for too 🙂 x

Heyyyy! It’s been a few days since my last update so I thought I’d check in!

DD2 is currently at her residential and I’m missing her so much. Her teacher called me today to let me know she’s ok as she knows I worry, bless her. The school have been posting pictures on their Facebook page and it looks like she’s having a brilliant time 🥰 I’m finishing work early tomorrow to go & pick her up at normal school pick up time and I can’t wait to give her a squeeze!!! She is like my little shadow usually and follows me around everywhere so I’ve really felt it 🥺

I took DD1 out for dinner last night as it was just us 2 and she chose Wagamamas, which is one of my favourites 😍 I was very good and stopped eating as soon as I felt full, which I normally wouldn’t do - I’d normally scoff the lot regardless 🤣 It was nice to have some quality 1-2-1 time with her. Afterwards we went to the Card Factory to get some Father’s Day balloons and gift wrap for my dad as he flies back to Saudi Arabia in a couple of days. We then went home so I could wrap his presents and then I dropped them off at my mum & dad’s house with the balloons while there was no-one in the house 🙂 hehe. Me & OH are taking him and my mum out for dinner tomorrow night as a treat. They deserve it because they never let me treat them and they’ve given me so much recently!

One of my close friends came round to be a witness for the transfer of equity docs, so they’re all signed and with the solicitors, so now it’s just a waiting game 😊 I’m still getting bills in relation to my old flat from the managing agents 🙄 So annoying! I keep telling them I don’t live there any more but they’re not listening!

Most of the direct debits have gone out and the account is looking ok (as it should, it’s only the 4th of the month 🤣). Once I’m on the mortgage it’ll be nice to clear off the loans and throw more money at the mortgage & credit card!

The exercise and diet is still going strong and I have lost another pound, meaning it took me 2 weeks to lose 6 pounds which I don’t think is bad! I’m finding it quite easy at the moment. Another 4 pounds to go before I hit my next milestone 🙂

I’m going to go and do my last walk of the day now. I’ve done 9,690 steps and I want to do 12,500. It’s been challenging today as it’s been raining quite a lot and it’s super windy but I’ve managed to dodge it, mostly 😁

DD2 is back from her residential 😍 Yay! I gave her the biggest hug when I saw her. She had a great time by all accounts 🙂 I’m so glad she did and my worrying was all for nothing 🤣

The meal with OH and my parents last night was really nice. I know the owner of the restaurant as we used to be friends in school and he served us. He said he saw my reservation so saved me the best table 🤣 At one point I looked over and saw my next door neighbour walking in so had a little chat with her aswell. The meal was pretty much on budget and my parents reluctantly let us pay 🤣 My dad flies back to Saudi today but he’ll be home again in about a month.

Work has been frustrating this week. I wish I could say more but I’m scared someone will work out who I am and then share screenshots with them (sadly it’s happened to me before on here, not with work, but with a horrible ex boyfriend. The repercussions of it were just awful 😩 Such a lovely person to share my diary with him!). I’m due to be promoted next month but I don’t know if I want it to be honest! It’s the people management side that I don’t want. We’ll see what happens next week as I’ve raised my concerns with 2 of the partners.

I’m off to a spa a bit later with 2 friends, yay! Can’t wait - I feel like I need it after this week! x

Eeeeeek almost 2 weeks since I last updated! Whoops!

It’s been a busy time, especially for DD2. She’s just finished the dress rehearsal for her first show with her performing arts group. They’re performing the show twice tomorrow. She’s done performances at school before but not for a performing arts group, and I didn’t realise she had to wear full make-up and have her hair styled a certain way, so it’s been a big lesson for both of us 😂 She also had sports day yesterday, and obviously her residential was a couple of weeks ago. She’s got another performance on 25th June and then another one on 30th June, both with her school, so it’s vvvv busy and I’m tempted to just set up camp in the theatre car park at this point 😂 I still need to find time to get her a prom dress and uniform for her new secondary school 😬

Speaking of her new secondary school, we went there last night for a parents evening, and I saw my old PE teacher from like 25 years ago 😂 I had a little chat with her. She said she remembers me but I think she was just being polite - I was rubbish in PE 🤣

The solicitors have finally done what they need to do to transfer half the house over to me, and it’s apparently completing on 22nd June. Yay! Then we can clear some debts! 22nd June is also the date my new nephew should be entering this world 😍 I can’t wait for baby cuddles!

I’ve now lost 10lbs in total and I’ve become a bit obsessed with walking. My average daily step count is 16.5K steps. My legs are burning from yesterday as I did over 17K steps but I still want to walk everywhere 😂 Even when the weather is super hot like it is right now I still want to go out walking! It might change in winter 😂 Tonight I walked to my friend’s house to drop off her presents & card as she turns as old as me on Sunday.

Poor OH had a horrible shift last night and nearly had to park up in the truck & wait 9 hours before driving again, as he was about to hit the 15 hour mark. Luckily he got back to the yard just in time but only with 5 minutes to spare 😩 He hadn’t slept much yesterday either. Bless him.

I don’t think there is much else to report. Work is work lol, not much to tell you there really. DD1 is all ok. DSD is also ok although her mum was horrible to her again last week 🙄 She’s just so nasty sometimes!

One hour until OH’s alarm goes off so I’m going to chill I think, I feel tired and I’ve got an early start tomorrow getting DD2 ready for this show x

Thank you 😊 The solicitors lost the paperwork which was frustrating but luckily they found it.

DD2 did her show today and she was absolutely amazing! I know I’m completely biased but she really is talented. Her timing in her dance routines was so good. It’s the first time she’s ever danced like that on stage and she was in her element. She looked like she was having a blast 😍 She said she’s not tired despite waking up early to have her hair & make-up done and doing 2 shows (and being at the theatre for 9 hours!). OH was able to attend as he finished work at 10am so he raced home, showered, got dressed and then we went to the theatre. My mum also came, and DD2’s dad. DD1 spent the day with one of her friends at a school summer fete.

I’ve lost another pound 😊 I didn’t sleep well last night, plus my thighs are burning from all the walking this week (all of my walks include at least one steep hill) so I’ve only done 7K steps today as I’m trying to listen to my body and not push it too hard. I’m really enjoying seeing the weight come off!

Fathers day tomorrow, however my dad is in a different country, OH will be working or sleeping, and the girls will be with their dad, so I’m going to a spa with my mum for a facial 😁 It was a birthday present from her. I’m really looking forward to it. It’s been a bit of a stressful week so it’s come at the right time!

We are in a heatwave and I am hating every minute of it 🥵🤣 As I type this I am sat in my boiling kitchen with my feet in a bucket of cold water and a fan blowing in my face 🤣 I wanted to go into the nice air conditioned office today, but DSD was off school and DD2 needed collecting at 1:30pm, so I needed to work from home. Ughhhhhh. I decided I wasn’t cooking in this heat so I took all 3 girls to McDonald’s, where we got to enjoy cheap (ish) food in the air con 😍

Because the heat has been so horrendous this week my step count has been shocking. Last week I did a total of 102,631 steps. This week so far I’ve done 37,005 🤣 and they’re getting less each day! I’ll try and give it a boost over the weekend as it’s going to get cooler apparently 🙏🏼 I miss walking so much!

I went to a safari park a couple of days ago with work for a team social. It was booked ages ago so none of us could’ve predicted this horrible heatwave… we were more concerned about it raining 🤣 It was still a fun day though, just very hot. 15 of us went and for the activity we were put into 3 teams of 5, and my team won 😃 The prize was getting to pet and feed the meerkats. They were very cute 😍 We had a nice bbq afterwards and some ice-cream.

There’s been loads of things happen actually since my last update…

My new nephew was born on 22nd! He weighed 8lbs 6oz and he’s a total cutie 🥰 The girls and I met him when he was 2 days old. He is the clone of his big brother ❤️

I now officially own the house with OH, so that’s all done! Apparently the land registry won’t be updated for months as they’re still catching up from covid 😬

Me & my mum went for a nice facial at a spa, which was her birthday present to me. It was a nice treat after a very stressful few days!

Me & OH went out to watch England play their 2nd World Cup game. Disappointing, but still a fun night! I doubt I’ll watch the game tomorrow - I will be too tired to watch it that late 🤣 I’m such a granny.

DD2 did another show last night with the school choir, which was lovely. I also spent a small fortune on pics from the show that she did with her performing arts group last weekend as they were finally released, but her dad said he will give me half. One more show to go!

DD1’s form tutor sent me a lovely e-mail about her today, which was so nice. She is such a good girl 💖

Money wise… All of OH’s debts have been cleared! Apart from his credit card, which has a balance of £8,246.06 🤮 So that is officially our only debt now (excluding the disgustingly high mortgage!). OH got paid today so I transferred £400.00 into the Christmas present fund (there is £801.02 in there now as we got some interest added, yay). We give each other £400.00 each a month for ‘fun money’ and I’ve only spent £143.87 of mine so far this month 😇 The same can’t be said for OH as his golf obsession is taking over 😂😂 hahaha.

I’m going to go and change the water in the bucket now as it’s warmed up 😂😂

Same here - I’ve been having so many showers! I’m so glad it’s a bit cooler now, though it’s going to get hot again soon apparently 🥵 I took DD2 out for an eye test today and nearly melted - the opticians didn’t have air con and it was so warm & stuffy in there, it was horrible!

I managed to watch the first half of the England game last night with OH, DSD and DD2 (DD1 stayed in her room watching Disney+ as she hates football) and then we all went to bed. Well, everyone except OH as he went to work. It was nice to wake up to the news that we won! The next game clashes with my pedicure appointment, d’oh 😂

We all went to see my new nephew again yesterday 😍 and his big brother of course. He’s so lovely. I’m yet to see him awake lol, he’s a sleepy boy 🥰

We are finally in a position where we can sort out DD2’s room. I can’t wait because it’s currently an overly cluttered mess, and it’s driving me mad 😂 We’ve ordered her new bed and mattress, plus bedding, and we can take her current bed to my mum & dad’s house at the end of the week as they’re having it. I’m so excited. Next we need to order a wardrobe, a desk/dressing table, and at least one chest of drawers. Her new bed has 2 storage drawers which will come in handy 🙂

OH is taking DSD back to her mum’s now. DD1 is playing on the PS5 and DD2 is on her iPad whilst eating an ice-cream 😁 2 days until her last performance, which I’m looking forward to! x
