What do bathroom spiders live on?

Our 'pet' sits just over our right shoulder when we're on the throne. He rarely moves.
How can he survive - there's no obvious flies?

There is no way in hell that thing would be sitting over me, or even in the same room as me 🤣🤣. You raise an interesting question though because I have spiders that live under my shower tray (I know this because I found out the hard way) and there are no fly's or bugs living under there. If he was to come out at night there still isn't anything in the bathroom for him to eat 🤔

A quick Google and it turns out they can survive months without food or water.

I'd be under strict instructions to scoop and get rid2 -
Thanks.
I'm terrified of it, but wife insists it stays - she's even given it a name. Hubby-killer or something?
So, should I give it a light misting? Serve it a fly?2 -
I've thrown a killed fly at a garden spider I was fond of this summer and watched it not move for 5 mins. Thinking they only react to struggling live food1

I sense this fellow is getting poised whenever I sit down.

I had one of those on the wall yesterday. I'd got up the step ladder with glass and card ready to pounce and the spider did an impressive bungee type jump down the wall to the floor and ran under the bath.£216 saved 24 October 20144

She sounds like my kind of woman. We have a number of daddy long-legs spiders, Pholcus phalangioides, scattered about the house. At this time of the year they don’t get to eat too often but if spiders have gotten in so will a few things they can eat will as well, including other spiders.ThisIsWeird said:Thanks.

We had a spider living in our bathroom window this summer - not that big though more of a garden type spider - your buddy would not have lasted in my home!
Our spider, however made a right mess! There was clearly more bugs coming in my bathroom than I thought. It left a trail of husks around the toilet to be cleaned up. Seems to have made a move as not seen it for ages and no longer having to clean up after itMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

I think now is the breeding season so your spider is very probably looking for a mate.1
