Are Ryanair based in Ireland? If so you can't use the UK court system. It may not be that straightforward making a claim.0 -

Hi all,
I hope none of you find yourselves in the same situation I did.
Ryanair cancelled my flight at 1am. By 8am I had applied for a refund, and by 9am I had booked replacement flights. At 11am, Ryanair reinstated the original flight.
Their position was that they don’t refund reinstated flights. I could understand that policy if I had waited until after reinstatement to request a refund. But in my case, the refund was requested well before the reinstatement — and yet Ryanair still refused to pay out.
The solution: I went through ADR Aviation (Alternative Dispute Resolution). I uploaded all my emails and screenshots of chats with Ryanair customer service. Today (2nd September 2025), I’ve been fully reimbursed. The claim was lodged in December 2024, so it took about nine months — but it was successful.
Would highly recommend this route to anyone stuck in a similar dispute.
Thanks,

A ludicrous situation. Once receiving a cancellation notification it's entirely reasonable for a passenger to make alternative arrangements. If they later reinstate the flight or find the cancellation notice was in error than that's their fault.GWVHOWIE said:Hi all,

Glad AviationADR found in your favour, a court judge almost certainly would too. Out of interest did you claim just for the refund, or for the cost of the replacement flights?0 -
Hey, just a claim for the cancelled flights. The replacement flights were of similar price although on a different day I didnt feel like I had a standing to also claim for those so just focused on the cancelled ones.bagand96 said:
